CO has more warmachine players than 40k or fantasy players right now. There are two main stores that have GW gaming near you, both with different types of players. Both are probably about 30mins from you.

The first is Valhallas just a few blocks south of I-70 in Wheat Ridge. They've been around awhile, have a sizeable gaming community, and are known for having a number of GT tournament players. I believe their 40k nights are still Fridays with Saturday gaming as well. I cannot remember when they play WH Fantasy.

The other store near you is Stonebridge Games up on main street in longmont. There is a younger crowd in that store, and its known as being less competetive than Valhallas, but they also run more special scenarios and events than Valhallas. Their main day is Saturdays.

The one other store is the Westminster hobby town. It's a much smaller crowd than the other two stores, only 6-10 people on a Friday nights. Most of the gaming at hobbytown is warmachine with some specialist game-stuff thrown in, though the regulars have 40k and/or Fantasy and are tying to play more of it. Sadly, the store has mis-managed their gaming department and although they once had 15-20 people showing up on Saturdays to play 40k, those days are past and it would take a lot of work to get it going again. Supposedly they have hired a new "gaming employee" to re engergize things.

All of those stores have websites you can find, as well as plenty of terrain and space for open play.

There are also several other stores in the Denver metro, but I'm pretty sure they're warmachine-only crowds.

Take your pick.

A couple of ones that you missed. I think Attactix still has a Friday Night 40k/fantasy night. There's also bonnie brae hobbies downtown. At tacticon last year a group from there ran a bunch of events. I believe their main 40k night is on Wednesdays.

There's a small group of us that also play at Valhallas on Wednesdays. We just started running an Old School Vogen campagin about 2 weeks ago (not using city fight rules but using the special rules from the campaign). I'm out of town this week but will be back there next week on Wednesday and would be more than happy to give you a game as long as I don't have a campaign game to do.

We still have people showing up on Wednesday for pick up games as well since not everyone will have a campaign game each week.

I have been in Valhallas quite a few times but evidently I am missing the players. maybe is just work schedule not timing up. I like the place so I will give it a few more trys.

Whatmachine?

That's not my experience, I think the community is pretty diverse, with GW, Flames of War, Card Gamers, CMG players and roleplayers all over the place. In fact I haven't seen a Warmachine game in CO this year? Maybe it's just the circles, always thought it was a cool looking game though...

Additionally there is a store in Boulder where you might be able to get a pickup game, its called Karliquins Game Knight, it is located at the intersection of 33rd and Arapahoe. Usually on Sunday is when the 40k Players come in, but they are a younger crowd.

Ghengis Khan has usually between 50-70 players for the 40k event. I will be there as well as the Colorado members of the Wrecking Crew, plus one Florida member.

If you are going to play 40k at ghengis I would recommend registering pretty soon. Last I heard pre-reg was in the high 40's/low 50's. It's 60 people, I talked with Rob about it and he doesn't know if he'll be able to add more tables if it fills up.

I do know there's usually about a 10%-20% no show rate but still, it's better not to risk it.

On wednesday nights up at valhallas we'll be finishing the Vogden Campaign by the end of January, we'll be taking a month off so it'll just be pick up games. Starting in February I think we are going to try to run a Challenge Board/Leader rankings thing for a month or two.
