Yesterday, monthly tournament, 1250 pts.
Six players: Markus (Tau), Peter (Nids), Erik (Crimson Fists), Martin (Eldar Ulthwe), Toby (Eldar Saim Hann), me (
SM, Red Ravens).
Constraint: No tanks or monstrous creatures.
My army:
Codicier (terminator armor, storm shield, Avatar, Gate)
10 Termies (heavy flamer x2)
10 Tactical Marines (incl Sergeant w/ power fist tele homer, missile launcher, flamer)
10 Tactical Marines (incl Sergeant w/ power fist tele homer, missile launcher, flamer)
10 Scouts (sniper rifles x5, missile launcher, Sergeant w/ tele homer)
2 Attack Bikes.
First game vs. Tau: Three objectives (one in the centre and one in each deployment zone, Dawn of War)
The Tau army had 2x 3 Crisis Suites (incl.
HQ), 3x 10 Fire Warrior squads, 6 Stealth Suits, 12 Kroot.
I combat squaded the Tacticals and the Scouts so that the shooty combat squads (2x 5 Marines w/ missile launcher, 5 Sniper Scouts) secured my objective, while the other three combat squads moved through the center holding the objective in the centre. At the same time, Librarian and Termies gated close to the enemy's objective killing in the cause two Fire Warrior squads and the (infiltrating) Stealth Suits. Simultaneously, the Attack Bikes charged and held up the Crisis Suites incl
HQ for a while until one combat squad killed it.
Simultaneously, the Kroot and one deep striking Crisis squad took on my shooty combat squads helding my objective. Kroot were killed in the cause, while the Crisis squad was still in
cc with the Tacticals. After clearing the objective, the Termies landed close to the Suites to help out. But the game ended here. I held 1 objective and was half an inch short to hold a 2nd objective, while the 3rd was contested (by Crisis). Thus, the game ended with 1:0.
Second game vs. Saim Hann: Quarters, kill points.
The Eldar army had 1 Autarch w/ jetbike, 2x 6 Jetbikes w/ shuricannon x2 (one with Warlock), 5 Shining Spears, 10 Warp Spiders, 10 Harlequins.
There was a large structure (factory) in the centre, with partial
TLOS. I deployed my army deep in my zone, while the Jetbikes tried with swift moves to decimate my Tacticals. The Shining Spears turbo boosted on one flank but decided to stay back after facing 3 casualties. The Warp Spiders struck deep but bounced off and ended up closer to my zone. My army immediately seized this moment to annihilate them. The Harlies came close in turn 5. They would have been able to charge in round 6, but the game ended here. Killpoints:
SM 1, Eldar 0.
Third game vs. Crimson Fists: Five objectives, pitched battle.
The
CFs had Petro Kantor, 7 Sternguard Veterans, 5 Vanguard Veterans, 5 Termies w/ heavy flamer, 3x 10 Tacticals w/ missile launcher, flamer.
There was 1 objective in the centre on top of a large structure, 11'' high, and two close to each deployment zone. Each army held 2 objectives at the beginning of the game.
Kantor's bombardment bounced off (as in all three games). My Termies marched forward going after one of the enemy's objectives. They were charged by the enemy Termies killing the Librarian (3 attacks, 3 hits, 2 saves only, what a pitty!). The Termies finally contested an objective held by one Tactical and the Sternguard. At the same time, Kantor, one Tactical, and the Vanguard went through the centre to approach the central objective. My army killed about 7 Tacticals and the Vanguard. Kantor and the Tacticals left were not able to climb the structure, with three floors at 5'' + 8'' + 11'' (objective on top). The game ended with 2:1 for me.
Final standing: 1. me. 2. Crimson Fists. 3. Nids. 4. Tau. 5. Ulthwe. 6. Saim Hann.
Summary: My enemies were not able to deal with 10 Termies. They perfectly fulfill the shock & awe role.
Suprisingly, my three missile launchers killed much more enemies than I thought.
