The Stone Crusher with 2 sets of Crushing Claws, Tusked, Bonded Exoskeleton, Extended Carapace, Reinforced Chitin, and Toxin Sacs.
Spine Banks would make it even better, and add a tail option if you want.

What is the best army?
What is the best list?
What is the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything?
There is not "Ultimate CC Fex", there are a ton of answers, and they each have their own advantages and disadvantages.
For instance, I don't like the Stone Crusher because it isn't legal in standard 40K.

Also the "ultimate" cc Carnifex would be quite expensive, making taking two cheaper ones more "ultimate", see?

Depending on how many points you have to allocate to it it depends on the built, but starting from the top down is how you want to prioritize the upgrades to your CC fex (IMO).
Weapons:
Crusher Claws and Scything Talons
Biomorphs:
Adrenal Gland (+WS)
Adrenal Gland (+I)
Tusked
Toxic Miasma
Extended Carapace
Bio-Plasma
Tail weapon (either one)
Reinforced Chitlin
Regenerate
Bonded Exoskeleton

Mac, you are totally missing the point.
There is no *ultimate* choice. If there was, then everyone would take it and there would be no need for other options.
It is like asking "what is the best car", it depends on what you want it to do, and what other variables are happening.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

Not that it matters, but Crushing claws are limited to 1 per Carnafex.
Personally I never understood the point, 2x Scything talons creates 4 attacks, where 1 pair scything + 1 pair Crushing claws makes a maximum of 7 a minimum of 2 and an average of I think 4.5 attacks... I would rather have the guarunteed 4.
Unless anyone knows anything I am missing?

The Stonecrusher is a Forgeworld/Armageddon version that CAN mount 2 sets of Crushing Claws.

What do you get when you multiply six by nine?
Which funnily enough = 42 in base 13

Screamer-Killers.
since without them, there would be no carnifex models at all.
and they're cheap, and the original models have a small profile
(plus bio-plasma isn't a hindrance anymore)

Kyvik:
A pair of Scything Talons and a pair of Crushing Claws would give the Carnifex a minimum of 4 attacks, I believe. Two for the basic profile, one for the Scything Talons, and at least one for the Crushing Claws. This means that such a Carnifex could get 10 attacks on the charge.

I don't have my codex with me but I believe the d6 attacks from Crushing Claws replaces the base attacks. This means that a Carnifex with claws and a set of scything talons gets 1d6 + 1 attacks.

If you're going for elites I'd take the two pairs of scything talons, scythe tail, and adrenal glands WS over screamer-killer (which is a horrible name, btw :-P)
For heavy support, I'd just max out your attacks with crushing claws, scythe tail, bio-plasma, spine banks, and tusked. Then toughen him up a little with bonded exoskeleton, extended carapace, and reinforced chitin. Maybe take adrenal glands for WS, although this guy will be a tank killer so you don't need it. Adrenal glands for I might be useful if you're going against a lot of power fists or sisters with power weapons. This beast should come out to around 220 points and he's going to attrack a lot of attention, so i'd pair him up with an elites carnifex, blocking half his body, for the cover save.
Hope this aides your decision making.
