So, there are are a number of threads about the benefits of using casino dice (aka, Vegas Dice), but none of the threads mentions where to get the right (read, good) ones inexpensively. So, would those of you who have purchased such dice please fill me (and probably a few others) in on just where to start looking?
P.S. Don't say google.
P.P.S. Don't say ebay either, unless it's an ebay store.

Wow, I just priced them at an online shop. Are they really 4 bucks a pop for "precision" dice?

Run a search on Amazon.com for casino dice. Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/16mm-Clear-Translucent-Red-Dice/dp/B0007U28BM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1228098729&sr=8-6
I doubt that they're "official" dice that you'd find in the MGM Grand, but they're probably close enough. Who knows how much money the casinos will spend on dice to ensure fairness and consistency.

Thats not true. I am a craps dealer.... Dice are changed every 8 hours with the shift, the reasons:
So that each crew of dealers is held accountable for there Dice
each set of dice has a serial number on it that all the dealers have to memorize each day (along with the make of the dice Midwest, or Paulson)
Players at the table HATE when the dice are changed, many will leave the table if you even mention it.
As for selling them at casinos, they do offer the old dice for sale but only after they drill a hole through the serial number. (this is called "canceling the dice") with a hole in them they roll a lot more 2, 3, 4, 5 and fewer 1 , 6 so I would not use them for warhammer.
if you want true "casino" dice you have to get them from the companies that make them: Paulson, and Midwest
Midwest:
http://www.midwestgamesupply.com/
Paulson
Let me know if you can find a website that sells to the public. I like the paulson dice better they have a "misty" finish on them so they are easy to see chips and the like.

Prepare to pay for the damn things. Best price I ever found on the net was 2.05/pair. Don't remember the site, but I bought 15 pair. 4 bucks/pair is NOT uncommon. I dunno about all the stuff the Clthomps was talking, doesn't matchup to what I have seen as far as the cancelations and such. However, I most assuredly do NOT work in the gaming industry as a professional. WHen in doubt, talk to the pro. I.E., NOT grizgrin.
They sure are pretty though.

Some casinos sell dice in there souvenir shops but theses are cheap imitations, used to entertain tourists and catch would-be cheaters. I would never assume that these dice are properly waited....
And yes if you want Real Casino Dice they cost about $10 US for a "stick" of five. They should be called sterilized dice and be sealed in a tin foil rap that makes them look like large cough drops. LOL

There's an extremely informative article on the dakka system explaining their scientific advantage over Chessex and Games Workshop dice. Even at the horrendous cost, I plan to acquire some Casino dice as well.

Dice From Paulson and Midwest are balanced properly and will have no biased rolls. They have razor sharp edges and all of the pips are drilled and filled to appropriate levels. i.e the one side is drilled deeper and so that the weight matches the 6 side (smaller pip holes). Before any dice are allowed on a craps table they are measured and weighed with a small device that looks kind of like a set of tongs. The difference between cheap dice and casino dice is huge... Having seen thousands of rolls I can spot a dice that has a biased roll. If you do end up buying casino dice you will have to watch that you don't chip the edges off of them as it does effect the roll, one of the oldest scams in craps is "tapping" the dice on the table real hard at an angle to chip off one edge of the die.
