I play Raven Guard, and does anyone know if Shrike can infiltrate with Vanguard? I am trying to use vanguard to recreate Shrike's wing, and I have heard it mentioned before, but the only rule I can find to support this idea in on page 48 "Alternatively, an independant character may begin the game already with a unit, by being deployed in coherency with them." Shrike's ability of See But Don't Be Seen allows him and his squad to use infiltrate, so can you choose to attach Shrike to Vanguard and depoy them with the infiltrate rules after normal deploymant?

There is actually no current way within the rules to get a squad to infiltrate with him unless they already have the infiltrate rule.

They get the infiltrate rule if they're with him... but would have to be deployed before him in order for him to join them, which means that they would have to be deployed normally, by which point it's too late to infiltrate them.


It's probably safe to assume though that they intended for you to be able to simply deploy a unit with him, and I doubt that too many players would have a problem with you doing so.
