I'm new to the Daemon thing and trying to figure out how the deployment works for them exactly. I know how the first half comes in on turn 1, but, how exactly does the deep striking work for the rest of the army? Is it only one unit per turn? Do you have to roll for whether the unit can come in? Any other technicalities of it if anyone knows any. I would appreciate the help.

Ok so with some digging I have found that the Daemons that didn't arrive on turn 1 are actually held in reserve and only use deep strike to come into play.
For reserves I would roll a die for each reserved unit and deploy ALL that make the appropriate roll using the deep strike rules.
When turn 5 comes up I would bring ALL remaining units into play.
That about right or did I go off into the wrong part of the cosmos on that??

This is how daemons' deployment works:
Divide you army in half ( i.e. if you have 7 units, choose 3 to go in one half and 4 in another).
Choose the half you want, and roll a dice: if its a 3+ you get the half you want to arrive, on a 1-2 the other half arrives.
The half that arrives is deep struck on your turn 1. The rest is rolled for throughout the game as per normal deep strike.

As Mekboy said, with an important note. You select which half is which, and decide which half you want to try for at the beginning of your first turn. This means after your opponent is deployed, and any scout moves, infiltrators, etc have been moved and or placed. Also, if your opponent goes first, you get to choose what half is composed of what and roll for your preferred selection after they take their first turn of movement. This is an incredible advantage, which is why there is a chance you get the half you didn't want.

i understand how that all works. what i really need to know most is the bringing in other units part. do i roll for ONE unit only or do i roll for ALL units per turn?
the book says the rest are reserves so i am wondering if thats how they work

You roll for all units individually starting w/ the first turn they become available. So if you have five units in reserve, you'd roll for each unit at the start of your turn to see which, if any, come on that turn. Any units that fail to come on, will be rolled for again at the start of your next turn until they have all DS'd or round 5 starts.

For general reference, that's the way rolling for Reserves works for ALL armies. Obviously most armies don't have Daemons' unique mandatory deployment method of automatically DSing half their army on turn 1 and the rest coming thereafter, though.
