anyone know the best way to do this? I have a can of GW Bleach Bone Primer That I love but it just clogged =( (hence the reason they stopped making it).

I am in the middle of painting my Ulthwe army and I really need to get this can working... Or if anyone is hoarding a can or two I will buy them off of you.

Just get a nozzle off a different spray can.

Wash it, let it dry and spray a bit of paint through it to remove any traces of the previous product (could be hairspray or something.)

When you finish priming, turn the can upside down and spray for a few second to get the paint out of the spray head.

I tried that once. It's pretty hard to get the new nozzle on the can. You might wanna get a towel for that. Or a HazMat suit.

Its an old school style of top =( I went to home depot to look for a can with the same top but they no longer make them.

I tried to soak it in hot water and use a pin to open the hole up but that didn't work.....

Any other thoughts? no one on ebay is selling a can of it I looked...

This primer, is it an acrylic spray or an oil based kind of spray?

Generally, I find that if I spin the nozzle around on top of the spray can (sometimes needs to be done a lot), it tears the dried paint from the inside of the nozzle hole.

But if you've gone through all that trouble of soaking it in water and poking a pin into the hole, I honestly don't know what to tell you.

You could try soaking it in Simple Green or some other solvent that dissolves paint but not plastic.

Its standard GW acrylic primer.... just in bleached bone color. I think GW only sold it in the states for a couple months.

I would try dunking the spray nozzle it in some simple green overnight, and then try and clean it out the best you can.

I've had a few cans clog up over the years, I usually just toss them when that happens but then it's usually when it's almost gone anyway

Simple Green should clear acrylic.

You could also try acrylic thinner such as Tamiya or Liquitex.

BTW don't forget that other companies than GW make spray primer in a number of colours, and usually much cheaper.

Yea I am just fearful that the bone color would be just a hair off and it would drive me nuts....

I was rooting around my stock of old spray cans and found a can of Homebase Duracoat Rattan Satin which exactly matches Bleached Bone as far as I can tell.

The instructions say it can be used on radiators, wood, metal, ceramics, most plastics, melamine and MDF. Good for outdoor and indoor use. It does not need a primer.

I used it for repainting a wicker chair.

They will have something similar with a different brand name. The colour name may be different too.

The contents of the can will be the same. It's probably all made in the same factory in China.

Take a sample of your Bleached Bone to match against.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

It'd be much harder to find the exact colour in a spray paint. The swatches you see at hardware stores are usually tinted in front of you with a specialised machine - the spray paints are what they are.

Clthomps is trying to match the spray primer Bleached Bone. My guess is that GW just rebadged an existing paint spray. A very close match would be better than none.

I had the same problem with black.I tried using thinners
but didn't clear it. As someone else suggested take
nozzle from other can. If you want a clean nozzle,
borrow it from a deodorant can.You can buy nozzles from
craft/hobby shops.The one I know of is in London,called
HOBBYS.Hope this helps
