It is rumored to be the first event on the 2009 circiut.
BASIC RULES
Armies will consist of 1850 points using a standard force organization chart.
The Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition Rules will be used.
The ConQuest Indy GT FAQ will be used. (Link coming soon)
All 40K Championships army lists must follow the 40K Championships section of the ConQuest Indy GT 2009 40K
Army List rules (Link coming soon).
Forge World/Imperial Armor units are not allowed in the 40K Championships, however players may still use their
Forge World models to represent a unit from their codex.
Individual units that may have multiple rules versions will follow the rules presented in that army's codex. Yes, this
means a Black Templar Land Raider will function differently than a standard Space Marine Land Raider. Please
take the time to review the relevant GW/ConQuest FAQ's for clarifications.
Special/Unique/Named Characters may be fielded, provided their individual rules allow them to be used in armies
of 1,850 pts or less.
The models used in your army must comply with ConQuest's Model Policy (Link coming soon).
The 'What You See Is What You Get' ( WYSIWYG) rule is in effect. That means all units must be easily identifiable
as the particular codex choice they represent and that any and all weapons/options taken for a unit must be clearly
represented on the model(s).
You must provide access to your own rules (which include the actual Codex used for your army), dice, templates,
pen/pencil, calculator, or anything else you'll need during the course of regular play.
A separate printed army list is required for the judges and each of your opponents.
In order to keep the tournament running on schedule, when time is called for a round, all player's must drop the
dice and stop playing - no exceptions. Because of this, please be aware of the time left in the round and do not
start a turn you cannot finish. A hard warning will be issued with 15 minutes remaining in the game. NO Game
Turn shall be started after this warning is issued, period.
If illegal units or rules violations are found in a player's list, at a minimum, the models in violation will be removed
from all subsequent play. Tournament points may be deducted and award eligibility may be forfeited. Please use
the feedback form on this website to ask any questions you or your club may have regarding rules issues or legal
units in advance!
ConQuest Indy GT Tournament Judges' and Officers' rulings are final and arguments or poor conduct by players
will not be tolerated. ConQuest Indy GT and ConQuest NW reserve the right to remove players from the tournament
or ConQuest NW itself with no refunds allowed.
SCORING
Battle (60%): 144 total points. 48 points per round divided into primary (20), secondary (15) and tertiary (10) objectives with
+3 battle point modifiers.
Sportsmanship (15%): 36 total points, player scored
Appearance (17%): 40 total points, judge scored
Rules Knowledge (8%): 20 total points, rules quiz Total Points: 240

I'll turn out for this. I'm near enough to seattle to make the trek. I was planning on playing this game competitively anyways so I might as well start now... I'm an Imperial Guard player with 4 months of tabletop war gaming exp, so wish me luck!

Based on one of the organizers posts they have 50 people signed up so far (i think combined 40k and fantasy). Also the event is in WD, so it is a legit part of the circuit.
I'm making plans to go with some friends, and know quite a few from around here are going as well(WA/ID area).
I hope to see some circuit regulars there but have a feeling few will make the trekk.

It looks like a cut n' paste job from the Adepticon site. But they don't have compatible 5th edition senarios yet. They don't have anything posted for 2009. Any word on what the Seattle Indy GT is going to do for senarios?
I'd also like to see the tournament FAQ. It's been "coming soon" for a while now. It's getting close to game time...

I believe that 'coming soon' was a cut and paste job from the Adpeticon site. Hence the INAT FAQ is what they are referring to more then likely. Hard to say if that is what they intend to use (I get the feeling they don't know what they are doing -- at all).
I know a bunch of people have been trying to get ahold of these guys to get questions answered. There's been no reply. Lets hope it is due to the holidays and they start responding and updating the site.

Only a few days left. I'll definitely be at the Q&A on Friday. There are some inconsistencies in their newsletters. It's stated that the army apearance is a max of 40 points, then it's stated on the scoring sheet that it's 50 points max. It's an 1850 point tournament, but 175+ victory points determine tie breakers (10% of 1850 is 185 not 175 like in most 1750 games). etc. etc.
The rules and missions seem rushed. In many cases they've cut n' pasted from other sources without checking to see it is makes sense in their format. I sure hope they have a handle on things when the dice start rolling.

This was a really well run tournament and it was a lot of fun. There were 64 players for 40k.
And Orks didn't win Best Overall!

I ended up with 69 battle points but need to wait until the results are posted to see where I finished.
I did take out a biker nob squad in game 1. they were kind enough to fail a pinning test on turn 1 after they turbo boosted. this allowed the 40 berzerkers and 3 oblits to get the charge

That would answer what the army was that was missing on the roster. So Orks did show up. Pinning the unit. Very smooth move.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

This event was VERY well run.
I have been to 4 of the LA GTs, and KublaCon (CA), and I must say that this was smoother than those.
Good length breaks between games, ice water and bathrooms close, information posted on the wall (including a countdown clock), and great attitudes. The prize support was incredible. I'm going to have to shoot for best painting next year.
And, yes, this was the first Seattle GT.

Look at the scores for those Orks though. They are pretty close to all the others, but had terrible painting scores. The lowest one had a 2.
I also think that the thing that really neutralized the Orks at the GT were a combination of the scenarios, and the number of Marine players. There were 15 Codex Marine players there. So nearly a quarter of the players were using the newest codex. And there were only 7 Ork players in total. So the GT scene in Seattle obviously hasn't shifted toward Ork spam. Orks were more likely to face an army geared against them than vice versa.
Again, look at the scores, there is a 10 pt difference between Rank 36 and Rank 50, the tournie on the whole was pretty close, which is great to see.
