So I haven't really played any 40k since about mid-4th edition. Recently, real life has been much to intense for toy soldiers. Anyway, the light is at the end of the tunnel so to speak so I'm looking at easing back into the hobby. I'd like to give mech eldar a serious try now that they aren't "the cheeze." Hoping to (finally) make it to a decent sized tournament sometime in 2009 after tryign like hell for the last 6 years.

A farily short ranged basic drive up and burn army. Autarchs are there for the +2 strategist rolls. Lots of templates, lots of fusion guns, a few mid-strength weapons on the skimmers for pot shots. Does anyone see anything glaringly wrong with this list? I suppose it's a bit of an alpha strike list what with all the really vulnerable units. Ganging up on targets will be key I think. Original list had a couple of basic 10 man Avenger squads in place of a couple of guardian squads. Should I retool to fit some farseer and warlock support in there? Keep in mind I have not played one game of 5th ed so be gentle.

I don't think the FD Exarchs need the flamers, if you're running 3 squads with 3 templates each. Against vehicle-heavy armies you're going to need the FDs to do the dirty work, since Eldar ranged anti-tank is kind of inefficient for their points.
I'd personally run the second FD squad in a Serpent instead of the Falcon, and use the saved points to buy power weapons for the Autarchs, and/or Spirit Stones for the skimmers. Falcons are a little overpriced for what they do now, plus the fact that they're vulnerable to melta spam.
I'd also think about replacing an Autarch with a Doomseer. The second Autarch contributes less to your reserves rolls than the first one, and Doom will help you against just about anything.
I think it's a solid start - from here, you're either tweaking the list, or completely retooling the army.

The list looks quite good.
I'd take one Farseer w/ runes of warding instead of the 2nd Autarch in order to negate psychic powers.

I don't think you need the prisms as they are best used for anti-horde and with your Mad flamer action that shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest dumping them for a pimped out squad of scorpions or banshees in a serpent. Assault/counter-assault is the only thing you seem to be missing. Maybe even go for some swooping hawks to add some more ranged shooty and capitalize on having 2 autarchs.
Overall a very decent build I think. FLAME ON!!

The seer makes alot of sense now that I think of it. I guess getting 4/6 of your units on turn two isn't that much worse than 5/6 (which is what the other Autarch would give you).
I've retooled the list a bit to look like this. By dropping the exarchs, falcon, and holofields, I was able to make one guardian squad a dire avenger squad, add another Prism, give the fire dragon squad a serpent, and fit a doomseer with ROWard.
Autarch- fusion gun
Farseer- doom, runes of warding, singing spear
6 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent-shuriken cannon, spirit stones

10 Storm Guardians- 2 flamers, warlock w/destructor and spear. Wave Serpent w/ bright lances, stones

10 Dire Avengers- exarch w/ dual catapults, bladestorm. Wave Serpent w/ bright lances, stones
Fire Prism

Fire Prism
Which do you think is better - 3 Prisms or 2 Prisms with Holofields. I can't seem to fit 3 w/ holofields in my list and still have enough troops or Fire Dragons. C&C appreciated.

Your latest list looks pretty good. Try it out see how you like it.
Fire Prisms are kinda nerfed in 5th. Not so good anti tank but decent anti hordes. I been testing 3 naked no holos

quick question: Exarch with bladestorm, yay or nay? those 32 points could give me 2 more Fire Dragons.

Looks better. Don't bother when the Prisms go down. I'd take three Prisms without holofields instead of two with.
Bladestorm is a waste of points since the Avengers cannot shoot next round.

As youve got 3 prisms, swap the BL's for EMLs (The serpents are fast enough to say Hi to side armour & the lances are only effective against AV 13+) - you get longer range and the plasma too. As for the ap of the lances... if you wanted to, you could link up all three up for some termie killing death. It would be amusing atleast.
Good list otherwise

I think this is not possible. One can give up the shooting to support another one. The third cannot be twin-linked.

You can link more than one up - Furthermore the strength of the shot is increased by 1 and the AP lowered by one for each cannon contributing to it.. & it mentions before this and the other(s) as contributor
Str 7 ap 2 large blast woo. A waste, 3 str 9 ap 2 blasts would generally be better. But amusing.

No, its S5 AP5 and twin-linked it improves as said.
This blast is decent vs horde. But I found in several test games that the small blast always scatters too much.
Therefore, I replace Prisms by Falcons with Fire Dragons.

What what? The focused is str 9 ap 2 blast, unfocused is str 5 ap 4 large blast.
Adding in one or more prisms to the power of a firing prism makes it TL (You can roll your 2d6 & scatter at the same time & decided to re-roll or not) and adds 1 to the strength and decreases the AP by 1 for each tank contributing.
Focused, 1 prism adding to the first = TL str 10 ap 1 blast
(More doesnt do anything for the focoused as your already capped)
Unfocused, 1 prism adding to the first = TL str 6 ap 3 large blast
Unfocused 2 prisms adding to the first = TL str 7 ap 2 large blast
3 prism adding to the 1st * = TL Str 8 ap 1 large blast
* Not that you can have 4 or more in a normal force org chart neway.
Its never ap 5. Unless your talking about the shruiken catapults, and then thier TL str 4 ap 5 assualt 2. (Or not TL shruiken cannon str 6 ap 5 assualt 3)
Take your pick.
