york

Hi all, i'm 27, and have got the 40k bug

just started collecting 40k, have started with tyranids, great models.

I live near york and have never played, just getting to grips with rules, as i glue and paint the models.

Is there any one who lives near york or easingworld who collects and plays, who can show me the ropes and get me started, so i can start playing. Or maybe there are some local clubs.

I am a novice so will be a easy target.

I could play at game work shop in york, but feel bit of a idiot, as every one in there knows how to play, and most of the time i dont even know what they are talking about, pluss the games go so fast

Thanks all

So, you got the Bugs bug, excellent! I can't help with local games, but don't be shy about visiting GW. Their main goal is to get new gamers in the door and ready as quickly as possible. For me, I just asked the front desk if anyone was looking for a game and that I was a beginner. They set me up with many games, and my opponent's never had a problem with helping me learn. Have fun!

Ditto with the last post. I do not have a GW store locally here, but when I visited one for the launch of 4th ed. they were awesome. Pulled me aside we ran a small (500pt. I think) game where he explained all the rules as we went. Was an excellent experience.

Oh, and btw...Welcome!!!

Welcome to dakka.

Put a post in the schedule a game forum to see if you can drum up business.

Or play against the GW staffers. They are pretty good with new players.
