hihi

i ran into alot ALOT of problems with the battle fleet gothic bases breaking off ( leaving the plastic part still stuck inside the glued slots )

doesnt this occur to other people? i mean.... like 80% of my BFG bases are broken like that....

are there any solutions you can tell me? ( normally i hear people say pin stuff but i dunno how to pin
into that tiny plastic base / rod thing )

I've had that happen to me with landspeeders. You gotta get some hefty brass rod and some form of base to jam it into.

Cut a cm or so off the flying base.
Drill the hole out wider.
Re glue.

This will give you some more stability.

Buy a pinvice and a small pack of different sized drillbits.

You should be able to get both from a hobby store for less than 15 uk pounds.

Almost essential for drilling barrels and pinning fins on BFG ships

If you can't wait.........
You may be able to use a craft knife as a drill then putty the base into the larger hole.
......NOT recommended but it just might work!

Generally mine have been quite good and not snapped so far but I had the same problem with my Chaos battleship.

For that I drilled a larger hole into the model and instead of using the little plastic nobble on the base, glued the actual base shaft into the large hole. This made it alot more stable. But the weight of the ship meant the plastic shaft was on the verge of snapping, so I glued brass rods at the front and rear of the shaft to sure it up. Once sprayed black you can even see they're there.

Ninja Magic makes magnetic adapters for flying bases that allow you to remove them. I bought a pack at Origins last summer, and they seem quite nice. With Hostile Intent is the name of their spaceship game I think, but the adapters are perfect for BFG (and probably anything else with a flying base, really).

There should be a link on their site where you can buy them. Rattlehead Games, I think it's called.
