Yes thats right! Last time I played in a official tournament was NINE years ago. The tournament scene hadn't developed around here enough and didn't work with my schedule. I finally have time to attend a RTT. I'm going to be bringing my nurgle/slaanesh list. I have NO idea what to expect at this. 2,000 points is the limit for 40k. Here is my list, some input would be greatly appreciated.

Demon Prince, Wings, Mark of Nurgle, Nurgles Rot
Demon Prince, Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of submission

8 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Champ, Power Weapon, Personal Icon, Melta Bombs
8 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Champ, Power Weapon, Personal Icon, Melta Bombs
8 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Champ, Power Weapon, Personal Icon, Melta Bombs
9 Noisemarines with Sonic Blasters

8 Havocs, 4 Flamers, Rhino, Havoc launcher.
Vindcator with Possession, twin-linked bolter.

That leaves me with 117 points left over.

A) How does the list look so far? Is it competitive enough for a RTT?
B) What should I spend the extra 117 on?

Thanks! - Grundel

I'd definitely drop the power weapons in the Plague Marine squads for power fists. At Initiative 3 they'll be striking after most foes anyway so it makes more sense to include the weapon that's effective against a wider range of targets.

Havocs with four flamers seems like overkill as you already have a lot of anti-infantry firepower in your troops, particularly the Noise Marines. If you do want heavy fire support up close, Chosen are a much better choice. Their Infiltration ability gets them where you want right away.

In any case, some long-range fire-support seems in order. Obliterators are the classic choice for this, though Havocs, Predators or Land Raiders can also perform this role.

The list looks quite good.
PM are very resilient and form a good anvil, while a hammer unit is missing.
But it should work also without such a unit.
I'd take another cheap Vindicator.

Thanks for the input guys. Good points I hadn't considered. For the new list added the powerfists. Added a expendable front line squad of straight 8 plague marines no champ. Wind of Chaos over Nurgles Rot. Forgot to add Termie squad to list haha.

Demon Prince, Wings, Mark of Nurgle, Wind of Chaos
Demon Prince, Wings, Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of submission

7 Terminators, 4 Combiplasma, 1 Combimelta, Heavy Flamer, Chainfist

9 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns (front squad)

8 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Champ, Power Fist, Personal Icon, Melta Bombs

8 Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Champ, Power
Fist, Personal Icon, Melta Bombs

9 Noisemarines with Sonic Blasters

Vindcator with Possession, twin-linked bolter.
Vindcator with Possession, twin-linked bolter.
Predator with Twinlinked Lascannon, Havoc Launcher

2000 on the dot. How does that sound?

Looks very good.
I'd keep it. The Plague Marines are resilient enough to take a walk in order to contest or occupy objectives.

Why drop the champion from the plague marine squad you want to keep out front? You should take one with an icon so you can sumon your terminators closer to the fight. Remember that noise marines and plague marines are fearless, while your terminators aren't. Terminators can't capture objectives, only troops choices can. If you're looking to go marine hunting with the termis, combi-plas are one shot weapons, 1000 Sons might serve you better; every shot of theirs is AP3, they are also relentless, just like the terminators, but are troops so can capture objectives.
Also, a predator is a lot of points to spend on one lascanon shot that can be killed with one good shot. Consider 2 oblterators, then you can have 2 lascanon shots, or any other of their weapons, and it takes 2+ shots to eliminate them. They can move and fire, engage in c/c, and deepstrike. They are perfect tank hunters/MEQ killers!

TROOPS TROOPS TROOPS TROOPS TROOPS. Remember, troops win games, everything else is expendable.
