i play my friends orks a lot and iv never won. no matter what i take (including a baneblade) he just rushes me with 100+ boys and gazkul so he can waaagh every turn. he also uses his trukk so he can move 24 in, disembark and assault WTF!!!!!. i shoot the gak out of them but they always just rush my defences and rape me in CC. i would appreciate any advice.

against orks you need to out shoot them as they can eat you alive in combat, you need to get more time shooting by the sound of it
have you tried defending in depth, offering sacraficial squadds to the boyz in combat leaving them in kill-zones from squads shooting from further back?
the big thing in favour of Gaurd in 5th is the fact that you can't consolidate into a new combat, use this to your advantage.
This will involve walking some squads towards the orks to give yourself more depth, keeping a long skirmish screen to avoid the orks charging more than one squad at once.
basically a mob of 30 boyz is going to kill 10 gaurdsmen with lasguns in a case of massive overkill. but if they can only kill 10 gaurdsmen a turn then that's not going to be the best use of them. the orks should not get the protection of being locked in combat as your men should not be surviving to the second round.
avoid pie-plates, you pay the points to get AP3 which is crap against orks, instead spend the money on high fire rate/strength weapons like heavy bolters and autoocannnons which can shred orks and ork vehicles equally well.
flamers are great on squads against orks, especially those further back as once the orks are bunched up after butchering some gaurdsmen then its the perfect time to make them do the burny dance.

Seems like he is saying that he turbo boost one turn then moves normal and assaults. Anyway... i have found success against orks with my guard. I had some trouble at the beginning. First lots of flamers and speed bump units. Next is hell hounds. Always have at least one. Auto cannons or missile launchers over las cannons in your army. Auto has more shots and missile uses template. Use melta guns to kill tanks. That will help allot. But the most important thing in beating the orks is target priority and speed bumps. You can really thump them this way. If he mostly footsloggs, use basilisks.
Ya can also add Grey Knight termies with their flamers. They will ruin his day. Without knowing your list or how you play it, my advice is limited beyond the above.

Mortor teams? Im not sure if IG have any but front AV 12 on a walker is all but immune to str 6 and below. Surviable speed bumps.

make a wall of conscripts, no frills. he will destroy them on the turn he charges leaving him open to be shot in the face. (remember no consolidation into combat anymore!) after he kills the conscripts make sure all of your squads are at minimum so that he kills the entire squad with ease, also equip all of your JO squads with flamers.

mortar teams are quite fun against orks, and can occasionally cause some casulties, however the maine strength is that they are pinning which is wasted on big fearless boyz mobs.
however against small elite ork mobs like bikers and lootas, if you can snatch a cheeky kill you can pin them quite easily.
sadly no Av 12 on gaurd walkers, Sentinals are however good if you outflank with them giving them multi-lasers or heavy flamers

IG still need their tanks. Always have at least one Demolisher in your army.

command squads with 4 flamers, line squads with heavy flamer and flamer. drop troops, and you get lots of dead orks.
hellhounds were built for killing orks
and whoever said dont bring pie plates is off base. armor value 14 tanks are immune to lootas. take three leman russes and drop pies on him all day, plus they insta kill nob bikers.
lastly, as has been said, no assaulting after moving 24"
read your rule book again to get some of those rules locked down.

How is he Waagh! ing every turn. Isn't that once per game. Also Seconded the advice above
hellhounds
demolisher
flamer command squads
drop troops with flamers
Speed bumps.
Only feed them one cheap sqaud a turn. Also 10 guardsmen assaulting 5 leftover boys is a lot better than 5 boys charging one of your fresh squads. Dont be afraid to assault when it makes sense.

I'm a total Newb, but of the battles i've played most have been against Orcs...if you're up against a hoard army certainly consider LRBTs as the St8 Ap3 is PLENTY enough for all of them. As many heavy bolters as poss will deal with the infantry with a small amount of plasma/auto cannons dealing with the limited armour of the orky gits! Might I also recommend a few weapons with sniper rifles as all that really matter against orcs is avoiding CC and pinning makes life SO much easier...

lol good to be reading all this and how i waaagh every turn is just with my boyz(the green tide formation allows this) and all resistance is futile, what a typical guard move to throw conscripts at me  quite laughable and who ever said grey knights i play as them, and know how to work against them, glad i introduced angry commissar maybe the battle with him will be more intersting because of him, however were normally on the same side

i have to say there are a couple of options you can do with orks:
-put the guardsmen in cover(intiative goes to them!means they have a chance to live if assulted+ a guard in cover has his survival rate doubled if not tripled)
-get some cheap heavy ordance like leman ruses or baslisks(not demolishers, you need the range not the power)
-up your main HQ squad to deal with either close combat counter assult or spcl. weapons detail but load it out with morale boosts( they'll be just behind the front lines to boost the men with their morale and theyll be in prime postion to counter attack or fire their weapons)
-things that deal with flames...sentinals, flame throwers(givin to the front line squads), inferno tanks are reasonbly effective against orks and provide a large hit ratio with mobs of things)
-use 1 infatry squad to protect each of your good items(tanks, hq squads, hevy wepons teams)by spreading them in a half circle around that item.use chimeras as giant sheilds to also do this...they arnt realy much more effectve for anything else.
-exercise your 4+ cvr sv when behind other infatry squads!
