i've been wondering has anyone heard on wether or not codex catachan is usable in tornaments considering it is a codex and not
a print off list

Short version: No.

Long version: You'll ALWAYS have to consult the tournament organizer for specific answers. GW tournaments (like the GTs) don't allow Codex: Catachans anymore, and haven't since shortly after the release of the current IG codex (which was a long time ago).

You can make a catachan army using the IG codex which means you dont have to pay the absurd pt cost of that horrid codex heh, the only thing you lose are ambushes which were optional anyway and save a ton of points

Just remember that the "Jungle Fighter" doctrine is virtually worthless in 5th edition.

Light Infantry would serve you better.
