Here's my typical 1500 points Pure Mech Sisters of Battle List. I've yet to lose a game with this list. I've played against horde/speed freak Orks, Static Cameoline Imperial Guard, Demon-Zilla Daemons, and Mech Eldar with this list. Won 2 tied the 2 latter.

I'm well aware many SoB players our there prefery Eviscerators on their Veteran Sister Superior. By dropping an Exorcist, you could equipp 4 Eviscerators to each Veteran Sister Superior in troops and remaining 35 points to upgrade a Celestian to Veteran Sister Superior with an Eviscerator. But I normally don't use Eviscerators because after a single round of shooting, there's very little left of the enemy models that could ever be considered a "real threat".

What do you think?

Good list overall. I think you need more meltaguns though.

edit: Wait no, I misread. The list is fine.

Why not have the Canoness take the Celestians as a retinue? It's completely the same, but now she can't be targeted in CC.

Exorcists......You might have some luck with them, but they got hit hard in 5th. Just too many cover saves for vehicles as well as hard units like Terminators and MCs.

For 138 points, you can take 5 Dominions with 2 Flamers in an Immolator. That should allow you to change up all your plain Sisters to double Melta to make up for dropping the Exorcist.

Also, smoke...for 3 points it is huge for getting those little boxes of death across the board. Run them in lines or a "V" formation and smoke the ones in front, thus giving a 4+ to whoever is in front while screening everyone behind it. You can make smoke last quite a few turns with this.

Celestians aren't a retinue because their role is tank-hunting while my Canoness' role is troop hunting. If she was part of the unit, she could never split off alone until her retinue dies.

Exorcists didn't get hit that hard. True Line of Sight makes it easier and volume of shots means I can force more shots that would normally get saved due to low volume. You can make a cover save against a single Rail Gun slug, but good luck making potentially 4-6 saves when I roll lucky. Volume of anti-tank shots makes Exorcists very deadly.

Dominions aren't needed, 2 of the SoB squads are "pseudo-dominions" having 3 flame templates. But if I'm up against heavy troops, then I'll replace the Celestian unit with Dominions armed armed with 4 flamers. I never take Dominions with fewer then 4 flame templates.

Double melta Sisters of Battle isn't worth the cost. It's 129 points up front for 10 SoB + VSS + BoSL. Additional 20 for 2 meltaguns and 58 for transport. That's a total of 207 points. Mean while my current Celestian unit provides me 2 meltaguns in an Immolator for only 150 points. A unit of 5 Dominions with VSS, 2X meltaguns, and Immolator costs 164 points. Celestians are the cheapest faithful unit for 2 meltaguns.

Unfortunately, that's not how smoke works. It only conveys the +4 cover save to the individual vehicle and no one else. Would it be fair if I hit my suits behing stealth suits and claim my opponent needs to roll 3X D6 to see my crisis suits? Smoke only works for the one who shot it off. And those 3 points are more valuable then the extra armor. Although Rhinos between other rhinos could count as being in cover if between two objects.

Hehe, I know how smoke works. I was referring to the fact that the vehicle in front will obscure the rest by physically being in the way...thus granting cover >.<

The Canoness splits off...by herself....to kill Troops.....

Despite the fact that a single S:6 attack will ice her, if she is going Troop hunting at least give the Cloak of St. Aspira.

That way when you suicide charge into :Insert any Troops choice here: she can at least have a 2++ save when the Faith burning black hole opens up.

Mech Sisters isn't as reliant on Faith as Foot...8 is more than enough...well, that is until aforementioned Faith rift opens.

Your "Pseudo-Dominions" cost exactly 2 points less than the Melta version...they aren't massively more expensive.

Not knocking your list, just saying. It's a good 4th Edition list, but 5th is a whole different animal.

I thought that normally 1500 was normally a limit and not a suggestion. Eh, if your group is friendly about points I guess its OK.

I am kind of worried about just 1 Immolator though, vs any decent list with anti tank ability a one of AV 11 vehicle will die quickly. This list looks like it would lose hard if the exorcists go down early, or you get unlucky with them the first 2 turns.

@Hasan

The "Pseudo-Dominions" role is like Dominions except with a heavy flamer and higher chance for Divine Guidance. I'm not sure what you are getting at when suggesting an SoB squad with 2 meltaguns. As I said before, Celestians are the way to go for 2 meltaguns because they cost less and you could get an Immolator instead of a rhino. This list is competitive in 5th with 3 Exorcists (kinda cheesy), 4 troop choices, all mech, and decent amount of anti-tank weapons.

@notabot187

On the Contrary, by having 8 tanks. I overwhelm my opponent's anti-tank weapons. How often would someone have enough fire power to stop 8 tanks on turn 1?

Furthermore, I get smart using cover and smoke. Cover and smoke have saved my tanks numerous times against heavy anti-tank weapons such as static Imperial guard (lots of Lascannons) or Eldar who had 3 Bright Lances and 3 Fire Prisms!

I have played against armies with "decent list with anti-tank ability" and heavy amounts of anti-tank weapons in 1500 points and they were all overwhelmed by my 8 tanks and cover saves.

Well, that's not really strange in friendly games. But if you always use the same list it would be not hard to find a way to round it to 1500 points (or less).

But talking about the important stuff (the list) I totally agree with Hasan, you should take the Cloak.

I would go all troops or I would try to have at least two inmolators. I love redundancy

This is a nice mech sisters list, but 14 KP (if I'm counting right) could be too much if you are playing low KP armies... Well, that's always the problem mech lists have, so I suppose you have that in count

Just two things:
1. English is not my mother tongue. I´m really sorry for the misunderstandings and the kicks to the dictionary. Don´t be too hard on me, OK?
2. With the best intentions sometimes comes the worst advice. But you asked for it, didn't you?
