Ok I'd like to know the way this is suppost to be played.
The rules say that a wolf can be used as a casualty instead of another model in the unit. 5E has no rules on casualties so how does this work? I'm going to put some things down and you guys can go from there.
I have 5 Termies and 3 wolves.
I take 8 wounds.
1. I can give the wolves 6 saves and the termies take 2.
2. Every model gets 1 save and any unsaved armor check on my termies can be given to a wolf.
A Vindicar Assassin picks out your IC and hits/wounds.
1. Your IC makes a save and if failed takes a wound.
2. Your IC makes a save and if failed gives a wound to the wolf.
3. The wolf take the hit and can make a cover save if applicable.
Moving through Dangerous Terrain.
1. Your character rolls a 1 and takes a wound.
2. Your character rolls a 1 and the wolf takes the wound.
Casualty sounds like a dead model. So if your IC has 3 wounds can he pawn off wounds or just the last one?

They can be removed as a casualty in place of another model, so you do everything normally, but when a model loses it's last wound you can opt to remove a dog instead, seems pretty straightforward to me.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

each model is taking a save. You roll for each group of models that shares the same wargear. casualties are removed from the groups. EX you need to rill 5 saves for the termis and remove any casualties from these 5 rolls from these termies assuming they all have the same wargear. THEN you roll 3 saves for the wolves and so on... If you have remaining wolves you can remove extra ones inplace of a termi that would have died.

The IC would take the wound because of the vindicares rules

you take your tests on a model by model basis. The model that enters the terrain takes the wound.

can you rephrase this question, I don't understand.

no, none of his answers clash with what I said which is actually just what the rulebook says.

What does the vindicare rules say exactly?
If his rules simply say something along the lines of "may pick out targets in a squad in lieu of normal wound allocation" then I would say the dog can take the wound. (because the dog does not break this ruling at all, just like the Smoke launcher and POTMS rule interacts)
If his rule says the same thing but instead says he always hits his target regardless of 'special rules' or anything of the like then I would say no the dogs do not help.
Remember the dogs are a unit, so frgsinwntr is right, they will have to take saves like everyone else, and in the end if there are any left then they can start being casualties to someone else.
But I can't say for the assassin as I don't know what his rule says exactly.
good question though

Casualty means "dead" or "wounded" which are the same in a40K game except for multi-wound models.
