Ok so i started to paint me chaos rhino red, for me berzerkers, now i undercoated it black which im wondering if it was a mistake and i should've undercoated it white, mainly because when i painted it red i could still c the blac undercoat, and the paint would streak, making it look like a really really bad.

Does anyone know were i stuffed up, and i dont think its the paint cause it doesnt look very watery.

Black undercoat can give good results for red, but you need to work up to it.

Start with a layer of a darker red or Bestial Brown, and then paint your bright red over that.

Use Mechrite Red as a basecoat, it covers black very well.

Here is a deffkopta I'm working on with a Mechrite Red basecoat on the engine cowling

Foundation colours are great for that (eg Mechrite Red as mentioned above).

They go over any colour well and you can avoid working them into the gaps to give you immediate depth to the model.

Works really well.

Anytime you want to use a specific color I suggest priming in gray. The neutral tone will not affect the outcome of the color. If you use black, even after 2-3 coats of a color on top o fit, the color comes out darker. The reverse is true for a White primer, the color comes out lighter. I haven't used the foundation colors but it sounds like that's the way to go.
