Kildare, Ireland

As fought by the Newbridge Gaming Club in Ireland... All models are 20mm!

NORMANDY BANK HOLIDAY BASH

The game was between a huge British Army comprising 8 infantry Battalions plus armour and recce with plenty of gun support against two German Regiments with some support... The British had to take the farm, village and city outskirts to gain a major victory, while two objectives would give them a marginal victory.

Johan and Cyril played a masterly defence, even with their ability to never roll higher than a 2, and fought a fighting withdrawal in the face of heavy odds. Had the dice been more friendly they would have given the British a bloody nose and things would have been very different.

Brian and myself took the British and launched a full frontal assault along the German lines. Luck was with us and despite being unable to hit much we eventually took the farm and were into the village when time ran out and play was stopped. We judged it to be a minor British victory as we still had several turns to play and plenty of British troops to use but decided on a draw as despite being unable to hit any ground troops, Cyril had managed to shootdown all our Typhoons with the Wirbelwind.

Was a great day... and the biggest RF2 game to date but we really needed a few more players! It certainly stretched my collection to the limit.
