This piece is set at the begining of the Great Crusade when the Word Bearers still worshiped the Emperor as a God

Very nice job, I like it.

It's better to simply be an idiot, as no one can call you on it here. -H.B.M.C.

"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

Overall nice, but I think a lighter skin tone would have created a nice focal point. The darker skin blends in a little bit too much with the dark red and dark brass

Hand flamer, eh? Nice.
Looks like the red gauntlets could use another highlight, but it may just be the pic.

Nice, really reminds me of the word bearers.

"Model collector why are you wearing friday socks, its thursday today."
"We live in hope."

Heh, I figured as much, tyvm.. I happen to have about 30 or so SM figures doing nothing and I'd find it really fun to paint them up as pre-heresy WB's.

I have a few of the WD from issue 265 up. I think issue 255 started their 'Index Astartes' articles on founding chapters. Seems they did alot of the traitor legions first and showed pre-heresy paint schemes along side of heresy schemes. Anyone know which issue may have focused on Word Bearers?

Or, better yet, is there a different publication including this same info?

To answer my own question WD 269. I actually had that one...

I like the writing on the armour.

But agree that a lighter fleshtone would help to brighten up an otherwise dark model...

Eisenhorn, what color did you use for the armor? Straight chaos black?

My friend would love this

Lustria, Altdorf, Phalanx and Cadia...

I need to cut down on my armies.
