Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Anima Tactics?

The miniatures are, for the most part, pretty good.

I've always been an anime fan, so there's that too...

But, I haven't really been able to find out too much about it.

Are the 'rules' included in each blister?

Is the game any fun?

Any and all comments appreciated!

The rules are in the starter boxes.

The minis each have their own card with rules (and power chits).

I believe they're working on a rulebook.

I love the minis, but I didn't really enjoy my first game with the rules. My problems were
mostly the d20 mechanic and the odd moving to intercept rules that I didn't really
get.

Imagine Warmachine where ALL the models are warcasters. You get action points that refresh a certain amount every turn and are used to power moving/attacking etc.

It's an okay game, but not heavily supported in english. I've got pretty mucha ll the models released at this point... and the newer ones are much better than the older ones.

A good beer and pretzels game...not a big or comprehensive wargame.

But... the models are pretty good!

I went with the greys.... cuz you never know what they'll do.

You all don't understand. I'm not locked in here with you; you're all locked in here with me.

Well, it sounds like it could be OK.

I'll probably wait for the rulebook, as I'm hoping it will also help me decide which faction/figures to use.

Of course, a lot of the miniatures will make it into my collection just for conversion purposes too!

Yep it's a great game and not that pricey.
Book with background will come out in a few months. But so far you can do all with the extra booklet and online faqs/files.
The RPG book in English gives a lot of background too.

So, in an effort to make this a little bit less the "AT-43" section of "Other Sci-Fi Games"...

1) Does anyone have ANY idea when the rule/background book will finally be released?

2) Where is THE place to go to see pictures of ALL the actual sculpts in the various lines?

Thanks!

It's also not d20. There's a thread in Fantasy games with more info.

1) No, but they always come out with what they say they will, and things have taken less time to come out as the game has gone on. The basic rules are out, and with the erratas online you have everything you need. Anything else will be whipped cream.

2) http://www.animarpg.com/

The other thread has faction info and what not. The miniatures are great, but the detail is very tiny and sometimes the figs are annoying to assemble (mainly just a few specific older ones). Specifically, one characters tiny little angel wings are seperate pieces and her tiny arms have tiny little nobs that will not possibly fit in the tiny little holes they're meant to. Just have a file or clippers and any modeling experience and you should be fine.

I thought those were just sweet RPG miniatures and rules weren't necessary.

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
Adepticon 2011- Combat Patrol Best General

All the rules are pretty much online now.
But it'll probably be out in a few months. During or after Gencon.

Thanks for the overview on this game. I have been looking at the models for a while, and wondering what kind of game it really is. Many of the descriptions above have detailed exactly what I thought it might be. I will wait for the official rules before I decide to spend any money on this game.

We might be waiting a while still.

And from what I've read, we already 'have' (via download) 90% of the rules that will be in the book, eventually, anyway...

Agreed. Besides on the forum i linked you to, you can find all the addendums and additional rules that go with the booklet. In the end there aren't that many basic rules. It's small scale skirmish. The depth comes from the interaction between the multitude of abilities etc. Which are all depicted on the cards that come with the minis you buy.

The rulebook has the basic rules, the addendums, a few extra rules (like push and the likes) and for the rest HORDES of delicious eyecandy and beautiful fluff. (a huge bio for each mini)
