Ok this is kind of a noob question but....

HOW THE DO HEAVY WEAPON TEAMS WORK?

Do they count as two models with one wound each or are they a single model with two wounds?

And if the heavy weapon fires can the ammo guy fire and if the Heavy weapon doesn't fire can the ammo guy?

I must know!!!!

Doesn't matter what it is or what it is intended to do. If you add a chainsaw to it then it is instantly better!

...and it gets even more complicated if you use the old models where they weren't mounted on a single base...

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

They are two completely separate models, mounted on a single base.

The "ammo loader" can shoot his lasgun, while the "gunner" can shoot his heavy weapon.

They are not multi-wound bases - just a base with two one-wound models on it.

Take a look at the 5th ed FAQ. This should clear up some of the confusion.

And I have to add in, In 5th ed the "team" meaning the loader and the gunner are the same group for wound alocation, so you can always take the loader first. And if you have a group of three teams there all the same wound group for allocation. So, It always seems to happen that the loaders die first.
