Subject: what are the best weathering techniques to use?
Hi... Im looking for some good tutorials on weathering and battle damage (not too hectic) on marines. I saw a really awesome pic on dakka but i cant find it again with a marine wearing either faded yellow or beige/tan colored armor that had great weathering...
Any ideas?
Or even better - please post your favorite examples of well weathered marines.

Hmm... I have tried weathering but I am not so sure about my results. Here is my termie, that I tried to make all sooty with chipped armor... to simulate months of city fighting.
the pic is a little dark though...

For larger models, you could try burning the tip of a cork, then rub the ash on the model, where you want some burny bits to be. Not only does it look great, but it's removable.
You could also try taking some clippers to a model, and just taking out a few tiny chips here and there.

Someone did an article on weathering with Marmite. I haven't tried it but it seems as if it would work. The article was about tanks -- it should work on Marines too.
Like I said, that's just here on Dakka in the past few months. Be sure to look around a bit harder, I'm sure there are even more examples hidden in the backlog of threads here.
