I'm really sorry about this, I swear this is a true story my computer hardrive crashed on Friday night of the tourney (didn't realize 'till I got back) and the few times I could get online that wasn't really a priority. Come 2 weeks later i'm trying to find it and when i do there's 20 posts bashing it and I figure that there's no real pont in writing it up now. But fairly recently i've gotten some requests about posting these up so a month later here it is.
I brought my nid list that everyone said would epic fail:

I actually got sick on Thursday night and decided to drive down Saturday morning from Jersey, even though it meant missing the Friday night post GT action. Come Saturday morning I meet up with Scott Simpson (ScottS) and Mark Parker and chat a bit and check out some armies.

Round 1 Space Marines
(please be foregiving its been a month now and I don't remember all the details and I lost all the lists.
Mission
Spearhaed 5 objectives
As usual I tried to place the objectives as close to the center as possible and my opponent did the same.
His list from memory
Tigrius
5 assualt termies- SS TH
3 10 man marine squads assortment of heavy and special weps and a raorback with heavy bolters.
5 sniper scouts with a missile and tellion
6 sternguard and a drop pod
Dreadnsught
I remember thinking that I should masacre this list but mine isn't true nidzilla so it might be a fight.
Deployment
I won the rolll for first and happily went first. I deployed everything on the edge of my deployment zone and he deployed scattered across the back of his. My flyrant was in reserve his termies were deepstriking and my stealers were outflanking.
My Turn 1
I advanced and shot al little 1 of my barbed stranglers killed his razorback. Not much happened
His turn 1
Shoot! he shot killed a few warriors and a dakkafex.
Objectives Me 2 Him 1
My Turn 2
1 squad of stealers in on the side I wanted and they charged scouts and masacred them. The rest of my army shot up his tactical that got out of his razorback and shot up a nearby tactical still no charge.
His Turn 2
His drop pod came in and he rapes a gaunt squad (it actually came in last turn in a random corner of the board and he used gate to bring himself to a better position. He landed the drop pod so it was contesting an objective. He shoots wounds a fex and kill a hormigaunt unit. He also shot up the stealers who weren't in syanpse fled despite LD 10 and ran away.
Objectives me 1 Him 1
My Turn 3
flyrant and other stealer squad is in and swamps on the sernguard and kills all but 2 guys and Tigrius takes 0 wounds despit his S 6 librarian. my army adavance as hormie unit charges a tactical squad snd finishes it and I kill his dread. The other stealer squad came on the wrong side and runs to kill the drop pod.
His Turn 3
Shoot downs 2 fex's this turn and a few gaunts. He gatted his lib out of combat and deep struck into avenger range of some gaunts. His termies came in but didn't do anything and thats it.
Objective Me 1 Him 1
My Turn 4
Stealers kill the pod and claim the objective my army shoots at the termies and kills 2 (they're way too tough) and make a run for objectives .
His Turn 4
Temies charge fex and fex goes dow and doesn't take a single one with ' em damn. Tigrus is the only 1 left and he tries to gate and avenger the objective my stealers ae on. he killed 3. He runs for objectives .
Objectives me 3 him 1
My Turn 5 I shoot the termies and kill all but 1 and I have my stealers charge tigrus and die because he makes himself I 10 huh??? Bith gaunt units that died come back and contest his 1 objective and capture the and capture another.
His Turn 5 Nothing substantial he moves his terminater unit into charge range of a fex and failed because of terrain and his lib charges my gaunts and dies (that was awesome) (he only had 1 wound left) and I get all 3 bonus points
Objectives at the end Me 4 Him 0
20 - 3 masacre for nids off to DA BIG BOYZ (Nob Bikers Table 8)

Round 2 Nob Bikers
My opponent is Jhon Adams AKA MOZ on dakka
His list from memory
2 warbosses with bikes klaws and squigs
2 10 man nob squads 2-3 klaws and a bunch of other stuff and a painboy
small unit of grotz
and 14 kommandos and snikrot
My thought YAY! my flyrant will have a field day. And I need to castle up with a gaunt wall and take it.
Mission spearhead KP's
he has 6 KP's I have 14...
Deployment I don't remember who wins the roll but he goes first. and deploys grtos in reserve and thre rest on the field. I deploy just like I planned and went with it my whole army started on the table.
His Turn 1
Turbo boost and tries to shoot the flyrant and fails
My Turn 1
Pick a nob squad and shoot the army at it kill 1-2 and wound a few.
His Turn 2
Move squads around to support each other and shoot the walkrant. His grots come in on the corner of the board and do nothing.
My Turn 2
Shoot more at the same squad injure it pretty badly.
His Turn 3
Snikroy's in and charges hormigaunts kill them and get hurt doing it.
My Turn 3 stealers charge and kill snikrot and shoot the other squad.
His Turn 4
Charge he uses his small squad to shoot a hole in my gaunt wall and charges through it. Kills a fex and a lot of gaunts/ warriors.
My Turn 4 army counter charge on the big unit in my lines amd at the end I loseanother fex my flyrant my walkrant and more gaunts and stalers he loses everything except the warboss. 2 of my fex's tr to shoot the small squad and kill the pain boy.
His Turn 5 warboss charge he kills ahormie unit and dies doing it.
My Turn 5 move deeper in deployment zone and finish the weak nob unit.
Game goes on
His Turn 6
... he already has more KP's than I do and he just has to not lose those grots to win and its not like they can do anything.

Boom Fex shoots the crots who area t the table edge kill 3-4 and force a morale test. He rolls an 8 and fails. I'm jumping up and down because I think I tabled him and he says "My slaver lets me re roll"... and he passes...damn
Minor loss but I got all the bonus points for a 10-17 loss.
Off to table 13 for more of DA BOYZ but this time it's a horde.>

Here's a funny anecdote... I pull my army over to my new table and find a horde of orks and I think oh great! more orks (sarcasm) and then I found out that the player just put his army on our table and he's playing on the other table. phew close call. Another guy rolls up with you guessed it orks and I tell him this funny story and then he tells me that he's playing on the table next to us to. I feel stupid. Then a 3rd guy walks up and he has orks and I figure it's not my opponent, and surely enough it is. Just thought i'd share that.
The mission is 5 objective pitched battle.
I deploy with gaunt wall and prepare to advance slowly and fire. he deploys a wall of green. I won the roll to go first but gave itto him.
His Turn 1
He walks up.
My Turn 1
I step back and shoot 40 or so orks die.
His Turn 2
repeat turn1
My Turn 2
Repeat Turn 1
His Turn 3
Repeat.
My Turn 3
Shoot and CHARGE another 70 or so orks drop this turn along with most of my gaunts.
His Turn 4
Couter charge I actually lose a fex and all my troops barring a squad of stealers who hasn't hit combat.
My Turn 4
I WON gaunts and kill more orks his army is almost gone.
His Turn 5
Ignore the OBJ's? and continue to charge killing 2 more fex's and a warrior brood.
My Turn 5 (i'm amazed we got this far)
Grab OBJ's!
We roll a die and up comes a 4 I say we shouldn't play since we wont have time to finish the turn but he insists that we continue so I give in
His Turn 6
More charge and contest OBJ's
My turn 6
TIME! DAMN IT!
Objectives me 2 him 1 and 0 bonus points
13 for me 8 for him. His nobs were still alive.
Off to table 13 WOO HOO I moved up 1 table!
I arrive to find some double lkash plauge spam goodness.

Yeah squig hound! Winning a game with only 10 gretchin left on the table under fire = priceless. That little gretchin squad won so many games it wasn't even funny towards the end. In game one they held two objectives, in game 2 they were the only thing left, game 3 they held two objectives, survived game 4 and 5 unscathed.
The gaunt wall was a real pita for the nob bikers, and the stranglers meant I wasn't going to win the shooting game in the long run. KPs wrecked the game though and pretty much handed me the win regardless of what happened (obviously as I lost everything but gretchin and still won). There was that turn 3 decision where I could've just fled and kept my 3 to 0 KP lead, glad I didn't honestly - we had a pretty good game because of it.

Yah if you had just done that it would not have been fun ar all and honestly the result would probably be the same the kommandos would have died aswell as the grots if you gave me the oppurtunity to advance far enough without fear of being shot at. But you did teach me something new that day, that nob bikers put out a ridiculous amt. of fire and here I thought the only shooty orks were lootas.

Its an important thing to remember. Somehow orks have figured out how to put an amount of firepower into the hands of individual troops that guard, space marines, eldar, and tau can only dream of. Thanks GW for showing us that it is the Orks who are truly the masters of technology. /sarcasm

Game 4
Darryl Dean's Chaos
Mission
Pitched battle capture and controll
Me Darryl played once last year aswell he had his eldar and I had footslogger marines I got thrashed, This time it's a little different.
His List From Memory
2 lash princes
4 units of 5 plauges with a fist champ and 2 plasmas 3 of them had rhinos
10 khorne berzerkers champ with fist
Land raider
2 obliteraters
He set up is objective behind a wall that blocked LOS and put his plauge squad with out a rhino holding it.
Deployment he set up his army directly across from me but he made the mistake of isolating his plauge unit holding the OBJ. I put a gaunt wall around my wholr army that was 2 units thick so he couldn't lash any biger bugs forward. 1 stealer squad was told to outlfank. I win the roll for first turn and give it to him.
His Turn 1
he shoots down a fex and hides 1 of his princes behind his raider and moves up the other 1 he lashes my flyrant but only 4"
My Turn 1
advvance upkeep the gaunt wall and shoot the prince that advanced all long range weps try to blow up a rhino but fail.
His Turn 2
Same as last turn except he does'nt advance with his prince.
My Turn 2
advance more and try to blow up rhinos I got 1.
His Turn 3
advance and rapid fire all his plasma at my walkrant killing him.
My Turn 3
stealers came in and charged the oblits and got beat up because I rolled no rendings. 1 of my fex's shoots up a rhino and my flyrant charges the squad inside. I throw a hormigaunt squad behind a building and congo line 4 of them i'll use this to contest the objective.
His Turn 4
He lashes my hormigaunt unit back and out of synpase and they fail their pin test. his khornies tank shock through my army and charge a fex and a gaunt squad and kill them. His oblits finidh off my stealers my flyrant with 2 wounds left thanks to the fist kills his pluage squad.
My Turn 4
WON gaunts to re capture my objective shoot the crap out of berzerkers and then charge them with the dtealer squad that didn't outflank. They die. I advanced my warrior unit to 13" away from his OBJ.
His Turn 5
kills my flyrant who I forgot to move and shhots my warrior squad down to 1. Contests my OBJ with his land raider.
My Turn 5
Fex charges a land raider and kills it phew that was close. lone warrior moves for the OBJ and runs I need a 4+ I roll... 4 and get a minor win with + 1 bonus point.
Me 14 Him 7
Off to round 5 what a surprise that one was (i'll let the suspence kick in).

Moved back up to Table 8 I guess if I can pull a masacre on this guy I can come in 3rd. 1 problem though...
Mission DOW KP's my worst mission.
So I wait for about 10 mins I got back early from lunch and Jusin Cook walks up to the table. We new each other from before, and of course he's got his nids. For those of you who don't know Justin placed 4th overall pretty much taught me about what units are good as far as nidzilla aswell as arguably being the best Nid player in the US. (You can thank me later Justin) Just as a side note our armies are painted identiaclly to.
So i'm thinking I have to get really lucky to masacre him. At least he has the same flaws as I do in this mission and the same number of KP's.
His List
2 walkrants- VC 2 twin linked dex a bunch of biomorphs including implant attack and 2+ save
each has 2 guard
4 dakka fex's 1 of them was a heav and had a 2+ save.
2 sniper fex's with 2+ save
2 units of 6 stealers identical to mine
2 units of 8 WON gaunts.
A side note i'm a strong believer in that + 1 SV is the worst defensive biomorph you can take on a TMC he has it on 5. I believe that it's only good against nids and lootas and surely enough he's playing my nids...
I win the roll for first and make Justin take it. He leaves his entire army in reserve. I set up my flyrant in the middle of my deployment zone and all my hormigaunts in a line so I have entire board coverage. Ideployed 23.99999999 in. up so he couldn't dakka me first turn. He said he was going to walk on with his stealers and I chose to outflank.
His Turn 1
Move on and take pot shots at my flyrant, guess what dead flyrant hmm... Plan A. Down
My Turn 1
hormigaunts flee! Army comes on I castle up in corner hopefully out of range of half of his army for a while.
His Turn 2
Advance and shhot a little.
My Turn 2
Create the infamous gaunt wall I love so much and shhot I kill a fex and greatly injure the stealers. One of my stealers comes on and tries to hide behind a rock. My hormiigaunts try to charge and tie up a fex lose combat and get away. Forgot that if I charged I wouldn't dtill be in synpase a rookie mistake I guess I was tired.
His Turn 3
His dakkafex sneaks around a rock and kills the stealers. His stealers charge my gauntwall die but if they didn't they would have won combat and he shoots a warrior brood dead.
My Turn 3
hormigaunts rally! More stealers on the same side try to do the same thing. I keep shooting dropping another fex and all the stealers. I try to blow up the gaunts with stranglers but they have a 2+ cover since they've been lurking.
His Turn 4
Things start to go down hill last turn I had 2 dakka fex's try to down 1 of his fex's but failed thanks to that 2+ and now him and 2 tyrants are pissed and kill both fex's. Another fex hurts the stealers behind the rock and he kills a hormie squad.
My Turn 4
I advance my hormigaunt squad to try to engage both guant squads for a suicidal run but fail my difficult terrain test... and I kill 2 tyrant guard and my gaunts charge a fex for gaks and giggles and actually do a wound HA TAKE THAT 2+ SAVE!
His turn 5
kills hormies charges my gaunts with a tyrant and kills them and shoots down my walkrant.
We roll and down comes a 2 from the dice gods.
Game ends Me 5 him 19 he didn't have a scoring unit in my deployment zone.
Overall a great tourney I met some really good guys and had a lot of fun. All my games were great barring round 3 which was alright and for once the food was edible. good job GW!

Nice Tourney Report and great finish. You have a digital camera to take pictures? Pictures would be nice if possible.
Nice take on a slightly different nid list. Warriors seemed to do not so good though.
As far as MC biomorphs I usually buy +1 wound before I get +1 save or +1 toughness if its a heavy carnifex. An extra wound is always useful the other two are situational. The 2+ save is good against anything AP3, marine missle launchers, cyclone missles, imperial guard battle cannons and gives you a 1/6 better chance of living against anything not ap1 or ap 2. Toughness 7 helps slightly against Strength 5-8 weapons. I can see 2+ save on a tyrant cause you can put the ap3 wound on him to soak instead of the guard.

The warriors did pretty well in games 1 and 3 thhey were my horede controll iy just so happened that I played 3 non hordes.
I completely agree about the +1 W before +1 SV but, admittedly + 1 SV helps a lot against amries that can spam S 5, 6, and 7 weapons that don't AP you (nids, Tau, eldar, orks)
