Anyone used Khan w/ Scout Bikers? Is this a Viable combination?
I'd like some thoughts on:
How you use Scout Bikers
What role you find Scout Bikers most useful
And for point cost is it a better trade to go with Standard Bikes or Scout
It's pretty interesting to have a whole force that could infiltrate onto the field.

It's not legal since since Khan only affects regular bike units.

Scout bikes are amazingly good. They are tank hunters, light infantry killers, and a really nasty fast unit... with booby traps.
Keep them away from medium and heavy infantry, as well as any kind of AP 4 gun and you will be fine

Yermom - I may be missing something here but what's not legal? If Khan takes the Bike can't He, as an IC, join Scout Bikes? The only entry I found about Regular Biker units is taking them, with 5 or more, to fill a Troop slot. Nothing that I could find that limits what units he could join.
Shrike78 thanks for the comeback. Do you have recommended Weapons for Tank Hunting with Scout Bikers? I am really liking the idea of Khan with the Scout Bikers for Hit and Run.

I think he thought you where asking if you could take scout-bikes as troops with khan. your post didnt say anything about that, but it has been a frequantly asked question across most forums I visit, so I see where he got it.
personally I think it is odd that scout bikers are so much better than bikes (or CSM bikes). I mean, these are the noobs, why are they so much better than the cenuries (mellenia) old bikers?
Kit-wise I dont think you could go wrong with those new grenade launchers. a bit pricey IIRC (at work, dont have the codex with me), but quite impressive. Mines are just great at playing the disruption game. really, what is not to love?

Oh i'm sorry I misunderstood your OP I thought you were saying you wanted to make an army of scout bikes and have them count as a troop choice. Continue on.

The Astartes Grenade launchers are:
Str 6, AP 4, Rapidfire
OR
Str 3, AP 6, Rapidfire, Blast.
Up to 3 bikes can upgrade at +10pts each.
Personally, my favorite combo is Khan with Command Squad on bikes. If I have the points, I give three units pairs of lightning claws and upgrade one to a champion. The Feel No Pain has saved my butt countless times. RAW says you can give all vets storm shields on top of everything else too which makes them insane.

Scout bikers are a fantastic unit for drop pod armies. Use the turbo boost during the ore deployment and set off the locator beacon. The booby trap is also worth points and possibly worth the unit itself... place an objective in a building and booby trap it.
