Hello I would like to ask if is it wotrh to buy the necron phalanx these days ? There are almost confirmed rumors about new necron codex (2nd Q 2009) new units, changes, named necron lord etc etc...
I want to start necron army and phalanx looks superb for it. It is not so expensive for 1500pts army which is inside the box and the box cost around 65% of saparete model price, which is absolutely awsome ! But i dont know about usability of models after new codex? will be there for example completely new warriors etc?


so what do you think ? its no brainer for starting the necrons or wait ? Really thnx for all advices.

if you can get the phalanx could you please link to where it is. i'd given up all hope that it was still in production and anywhere still had it.

yes it still worth it. necron warriors are still going to be the core of the army, you can do what you like with lords and destroyers and monoliths are still exellent.

well there is one in the united states in the buford mall of georgia store but i dont think they will send it to great britain.
i would say no dont buy it yet wait until the new codex comes out because we have no idea what will change.
they change the entire army so much that it would be unfieldable. just hold out a little longer.

2gamefreak: Do you think they can change the army that much ? what about people who have huge necron armies if their units are unusable ? Did this happen to any army in history?

Other than squats and possibly dark eldar? Dark eldar sound like a re visioning to me. Guard sound like a major overall but most things should not be too far off. I am assuming that necrons will be the same. Also a safe bet that all units will be making into the new dex. They don't have that many to begin with anyway. So will probably add more not subtract. My thoughts anyway....

thnx for all advices. I finally bought it ! i count the money which i saved and its nearly 50% which is no brainer for the price of all box i can buy monolith and 6 destroyers in my country... and i get 48warriors 12 scarabs and one necron lord for free !!!!

i never said they would take any out i was just saying that just incase they changed lets say the monolith so much that it isnt as effective thats why im holding out from buying any more models. just waiting until the now one comes out.

The Necron Phalanx is great for Apocalypse.

In regular 40K, if that's all you play, wait to play necrons until you see the new codex. Also, you'll rarely get the opportunity to field more than two in a average game.
