Hey everyone soon the 4th of januari we'll be having an apocalypse game in my gaming group

currently it's me with (guard and marines) a noob (he has only 10 marines at the moment and played once)

I can field 150 marines and 170 guardsman and alot of tanks (15-25 or something like that), it's a shame I dont have a baneblade yet, but I'm still going to school so I only have a small budget

vs 2 experience players (orks en eldar)

the main problem is that I know that the eldar player has a Titan (an eldar one) don't know which one and I know he's gonna bring him along.
and worse of all the ork player might lend a stompa from a friend of him
the ork player has over 300 models the eldar player I dont know

What is the best tactic to take it down? and for a stompa?

for anti tank I'll use:
10 man devastator squad with 4 lascanons
10 devastators with 4 missile launchers
2 anti tank support squads with 3 lascanons
land raider2 lascanons
2 deep striking HQ squads of guard with 4 meltas
2 drop podding dreads with meltas
2 dreads with lascanons
1 razorback with lascanon

for the very long range:
2 leman russ
2-4 basilisk artilary platforms (have to scratch build those so will depend on how many I will have made by then), if I can build them fast I might build up to 20 of those, but I think I will not finish more than 2-4 have to start on them yet

All I can suggest is focus all your firepower until you bring one down and hope for a catastrophic explosion to deal with the rest of their army unfortunantly it may not be a sure fire solution, but if you don't get rid of the super heavies you will have problems.

Try to drop those melta dreads in pods and the DS guard with meltas as close as possble to the titans. Then blast away. Try to take out the stompa first.

I have a Big Mek stompa and on it's debut battle was taken down by 5 melta veterans in 1 turn (took the flank march asset). Talk about devastating. It took me 2 months to build that thing and to be taken down so easily.

One thing we have had luck with is the Supreme Command asset (or whatever the one that gives you Tank Hunters et al. for units with 12" or so.) Planting that in the middle of a building full of lascannons or the like essentially gives you a pile of railguns.

Remember that the eldar titans are fragile once you get past their cover save thing, so just keep pounding at it.

The stompa is more durable, but recall that power fields are only AV12 and just need to be glanced to lower. So use your missiles and autocannons first to lower the fields, THEN tag it with your lascannons.

Melta-drop troops or chain fist guys are also great ways to drop titans, as well as CCW Dreads and the like. Anything with Str10 and multiple attacks or bonus armor penetration (chain fists, meltas, eviscerators, monstrous critters) will drop titans scary fast.

After that, as stated just hope for the big boom to rock infantry. With all of your tanks you should be able to hold off their infantry swarms while your heavy weapons teams pepper the superheavies. Just remember, the titans NEED TO DIE. If you let them live too long you are going to find that all your weapons that can hurt them are dead, and you are bouncing LR shells off them.

ALL my tanks lol:
3 leman russes
1 hellhound
3-5 chimeras
1 vindicator
1 predator
1 land raider
4 dreadnoughts
1 razorback
2 drop pods (not really tanks but whatever)

hmmm not ass many as I would like, if only another guard or marines player would join our side

I'm at a serious disadvantage: I expect to be outnumbered 2:1 maybe even higher and I'm th eonly player on my side bringen models so the entire collection of two players who play much longer then I do vs my entire collection and 10 marines from my allie dammit I want reinforcements, I hope that more of our youth people will aplly when the tests are finished so that we might be with 2-4 players on my side and their side given my side a model boos would be great

Try not to ballance both sides by pure model count. Make sure that you agree on a point level to play at. BTW, what is the point level y'all are going to play at?

I think you're setting yourself up to have a not-very-fun time. Apocalypse is very much 'anything goes' but it's meant to be FUN. If your friends are just setting you up for an epic fail, that's not good.

You need to balance out the points. If the points are close, take some extra Strategic Assets. If there's a big gap (like 4000 pts vs. 8000 pts), then you need to re-work things to give you a fighting chance. Either make a lot of their stuff come on from reserve, let you recycle units that are destroyed, or even just load up on Daemonhunter or Witchhunter Orbital Bombardments.

I'm sure they will belance it out come way (they are nice people not those that always wanna win)

hmm loadout on orbital bombardements nasty you just gave me an Idea héhé my armylist:
20 orbital bombardements and marines and guard

But I still don't like the difference in numbers heck I have 300 models but over half of them are plain guardsman

I'm planning something nasty with those btw:
carapace armour, chem inhalers, prefered anemy orks, hardend fighters, close order drill and light infantery

6 doctrines I know but they said take as many ass you want so this is what gonna happen

the max points will probably depend on how many my side is able to field (they asked me today how much points i have so)

I have to make a list and count recount scartchbuild recount end so till my army is finished

I know the name of his Titan: it's a phantom titan at least that is what he posted, had a hard time finding that post again but found it so

The other option is to ignore the Titan and just try to kill everything else as quickly as possible. I'd think about some whirlwinds and speeders from the APOC formation (I forget the name). Orks and Eldar cry when big AP4 templates (or templates that are AP5 and ignore cover saves) rain down on them.

And minefields. And bunkers. I'd think about taking a few Assets to help up the point total.

hmm I dont have whirlwinds or landspeeders so that's problem, but I'll use basisilik firing platforms (nearly finished drawing them)

Ignoring the Titan for other stuff is sort of like swatting bees while a Rottweiler eats your face.

However, drop meltas of any flavor mess them up quite considerably.

Stormblades work out nicely with their titan killers, Monsterous Creatures in HtH, Vortex Nades, Strength D weapons, Railguns.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

I'll have a chat with my opponents today so that we can decide on the rules for the battle: point limit and so, one I know it I'll let you guys know I'll post my armylist with it so that you guys might help me if you want

If you have no titan killing weapons, you are in for a long day. However, to mitigate that possibility there are some Strategic Assets you can use to help. Here are the following Assets to kill Titans with:

Vortex Grenade
Hammerblow
Supreme HQ (gives you Tank Hunters)
Precision Strike

Your conventional shooting items will work, but it will take time. Using the above assets speeds the process of killing these things. Hammerblow would work especially good for you since you have no superheavies and the d3 destroyer hits are randomized among all the super heavies on the table. So when you use this asset either the Eldar Titan or the Ork Stompa are going to take that d3 hits.

If you have enough terminators you can also field a Titanhammer formation...which is pretty slick.
