Can you take a cover save?

Can you go to ground?

I think the second has been answered before. If so my apology for asking again.

It was ruled that you could go to ground but it wouldn't prevent you from moving.

There is no roll to hit and no wound caused so there is nothing to take a cover save from IIRC.

So what is the point of going to ground if you still move? Is this in the Chaos FAQ?

No cover save is allowed.

I didn't think you could go to ground, but there's no reason to anyway. Going to ground is not the same as being forced to go to ground by pinning, so this doesn't work to even counter the double lash either.

Lash is just good...it's one of the main things that Chaos has. <Shrug>

If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong.

This was cleared up in the 5th edition rules FAQ, which you can find in the gaming articles section of the games-workshop website.

Unfortunately it means that the best thing you can do against chaos is take whatever psychic defenses you can, such as psychic hoods, eldar runes of warding, tyranid's shadow in the warp (although that only reduces their chance of failing from 1/12 to 2/9), etc.

Going to ground means you get a cover save versus the plasma cannons that will be inevitably incoming.
