Cannock

The remaining Orks had retreated from the shelling of the Iron Warriors after defeating their main force and giving the lead daemon beastie a whooping.

Still fuelled with blood lust Warboss Skarbuttz had found himself and his boyz without a fight and in the northern circle of the planet. Luckily for them on the white snow black bugs had appeared from a shower of organic pods. A big fight was going to happen.


As we was using a snow like theme on the board we decided to add some dangerous terrain in the form of a ice sheet - any model which goes over it must take a dangerous terrain test, any which fail fall through the ice and drown in the icey cold waters.

Orks

1 xWarboss - power klaw, attack squig, eavy armour, cybork body & twin linked shoota

1x Big Mek - shokk attack gun, eavy armour & cybork body

7 x Nobz inc Painyboy - big choppas, sluggas, eavy armour & cybork body

10 x Lootas

21 x Shoota Boyz - 2 x big shootas - Nob w/ slugga & big choppa (S1)

21 x Shoota Boyz - 2 x big shootas - Nob w/ slugga & big choppa (S2)

21 x Rokkit Boyz - 2 x rokkits - Nob w/ slugga & big choppa

Ard Boyz w/ Trukk - Nob w/ slugga & power klaw

1 x Hive Tyrant - adreanal glands (I & WS), wings, toxic sacs, warp field & scything talons

4 x CC Warriors - all with adreanal glands (I & WS), leaping, toxic sacs, extended carapace, scything talons & rending claws

5 x Devil-Warriors - all with toxic sacs, extended carapace, enhanced senses & twin linked devourers

1 x Sniperfex - reinforced chitin, extended carapace, venom cannon & barbed strangler

Round 1

Orks rolled to go first. The boss and nobz jumped into the battle wagon and it moved 13" putting it half in a ruin, the bikers flanked the wagon. The ard boyz trukk charged forward and finished its move on the ice sheet. One shoota boy unit (S1) stayed in position as the rokkit boyz moved forward onto the ice sheet, which one ork rolled a one on the dangerous terrain test and fell through the ice sheet. Shoot boy unit 2 (S2) utook cover behind a ruin with only the door way to shoot through.

The bikers fired the dakka guns at the devil warriors which had a unit of gaunts in front of them giving them cover saves, though four warriors took a wound each. The big mek fired the shokk attack gun at the cc warriors, it scatter and hit the unit of hormgaunts in front of them and managed to kill three after rolling a total of eight for the strength. The lootas fired at the hormgaunts and killed all of them except one! S2 unit fires at the gaunts in front of the tyrant with the big shootas only and manages to kill three.

All tyranid forces moved forward with the tyrant entering the ruin where the S2 unit was taking cover behind, a unit of gaunts were in front of the tyrant and use the run move along with the supporting ninjafex which is flanking the tyrant. The gaunts in front of the devil warriors use the run move to the edge of the ruin where the battle wagon is positioned.

The devil warriors fire at the bikers killing three, one sniperfex fires at the rokkit boyz it scores one hit with the venom cannon but the barbed strangler misses the other sniperfex fires at the same unit and misses all together. The Lictor which used the secret deployment move had deployed in the ruin whiich is in between the tyrant and S2 unit, it moves out of cover and attacks the ard boyz trukk scoring a penetrating hit which is rolled as a six on the ramshackle chart. The ard boyz then disembark from the wrecked trukk.

Round 2

The boss and nobz disembark from the wagon after it had moved 6". The ard boyz take a dangerous terrain test as they are on the ice and one ork is lost to the icey depths. S1 now moves and flanks towards the battle wagon. S2 moves into the ruin terrain.

The three bikers fire the dakkaguns at one sniperfex but fail to score any wounds. The boss and nobz fire at the gaunts in front of them and score four wounds. The shokk attack gun and lootas fire at the devil warriors, the shokk attack gun scatters 7" and missed while the lootas fail to score any wounds due to cover saves from the gaunts in front of the devil warriors. The ard boyz fire at the cc warriors and score two wounds. S2 fires as the tyrant but fail to score any wounds.

In assault the boss and nobz charge the gaunts, the nobz wipe out the gaunts before the boss even gets to smash 'em with its klaw. The bikers charge the sniperfex they fired at they score no wounds and take two, though the remaining nob passes the leadership test and remains in combat. The rokkit boyz chosen not to shoot the lictor and decided to charge, they took three wounds in combat and killed the lictor - as the rokkit boyz were still fearless they lost another three wounds due to the no retreat rule. The ard boyz charge the warriors and take four wounds while the warriors receive one, the boyz take a leadership test and fail and then are destroyed by sweeping advance by the warriors. S2 unit is out of charge range of the tyrant unfortunately.

The sniperfex not in combat fires at the rokkit boyz on the ice the venom cannon misses and so does the strangler. The last unit of gaunts move behind cover around the corner frmo the rokkit boyz but the trukk blocks line of sight. The devil warriors fire at the boss and nobz and score three wounds.

The tyrant and ninjafex assault the shoota boy 2 unit the tyrant scores three wounds and receives one from the nobz big choppa while the ninjafex scores two wounds. The boyz pass the morale test to stay in combat but loose another three wounds due to the no retreat rule. The nob biker and sniperfex battle to a stalemate. The cc warriors charge the nobz & boss, they kill two nobz but are destroyed themselves.

Round 3

Shoota boy unit 1 flanks around closer to support the boss, the rokkit bopyz move across the ice sheet and suffer two wounds.

The rokkit boyz fire at the last gaunt unit reduce them down to three models. The boss and nobz fire at the devil warriors and fail to score any wounds. The lootas and shokk attack gun cannot get line of sight on a target so cannot fire.

The tyrant batters the shoota boyz 2 unit and destroys them in sweeping advance after the orks fail the leadership test to stay in combat. The boss & nobz charge the devil warriors after the dust has settled the boss, twp nobz & the painboy after left while the warriors are destroyed. The nob biker & sniperfex again battle to a stalemate.

The tyrant flies forward towards the lootas and big mek with the ninjafex running just behind it. The sniperfex not in combat fires the venom cannon and kills one nob though its strangler scatters back on itself but luckily fails to score a wound. The three gaunts fire the flesh eating beetles from the fleshborers and kill two rokkit boyz.

The sniperfex charges the boss, last nob & painboy it scores two wounds killing the painboy and nob but also receives a wound itself from the boss' klaw. The sniperfex in combat with the biker nob finally manages to kill it. The gaunts and last hormagaunt charge the rokkit boyz, they score two wounds bu are destroyed themselves.

Round 4

Shoota boy unit 1 moves towards the oncoming tyrant and carnifex along with the rokkit boyz.

The shoota boyz fire at the ninjafex and reduce it to three wounds, the rokkit boyz fail to score any wounds. The big mek fires the shokk attack gun at the carnifex and scores another wound, the lootas fire but failed to score many hits and fewer wounds after rolling a 2 for the D3 for the deffgun profile.

In combat the boss suffers one wound and fails to score a wound on the sniperfex.

The tyrant and carnifex charge the lootas and mek, between them they take no wounds and destroy seven orks. The mek and two remaining lootas fail the morale test and run off the board. The sniperfex which had just killed the nob biker in combat charges the boss, between the two fexs they kill the boss.

Round 5

The rokkit boyz fire at the oncoming tyrant but score no wounds. The shoota boyz fire on the ninjafex and reduce it down to two wounds.

The two sniperfexs fire on the low rokkit boyz, one sniperfex only hits one shot with the venom cannon while the other fex misses with the venom cannon altogether but the strangler scatters and covers two boyz from the rokkit unit and then three from the shoot unit.

Round 6

The shoota boyz fail the pinning test from the barbed strangler so cannot move or shoot. The rokkit boyz pass the test, they fire at the weakened ninjafex but fail to score any wounds.

The two sniperfexs only fire the venom cannons at the shoota boyz and kill two. The ninjafex charges the shoota boyz and kills three in combat and takes no wounds, as the orks numbered more than 11 they were subjected to the no retreat rule but only two lost the saves. The tyrant charges the remaining rokkit boyz and butchers them all.

This is one nicely written report. I had interest to read it to the end thanks to its excitement. That dangerous terrain was a good addition to the game, though it punished the orks for having many models.

One thing about rules:

In the first turn it says "though four warriors took a wound each". Tyranid warriors are not a complex unit because they must have similar biomorphs. So you must remove whole models if possible? In this case two.

Cannock

The orks will learn not to go over ice next time. The ice was in the middle of the board and whatever was going over it would bottle neck. It was quite interesting and added something different.

I thought I could allocate a wound each..?

There will happen no allocating unless the unit is complex. The rulebooks states that you must remove whole models as casualties where possible. Your incident would have been possible if all warriors had different weapon-symbiotes.

That is so wrong man. he can't allowcate the wound on anything. if you correct it, da ork would eventally win da battle.
