Disturbing presence isn't huge, but it's a nice bonus.

I'm wondering how good swoop has to be for the doom diver to lose Dodge and increase cost by 20k compared to a goblin.

Being a long time Goblin player, it really doesn't seem worth the 30 extra TV.

Can't wait to see the rules for Swoop! I've always wanted to make the Throw Team-mate play actually work, and if swoop gives you more control over where you land, it could be super helpful. Maybe something like using the throw-in template (in a direction of your choosing) instead of the scatter template for your three scatters? Just guessing.

This could get me to start playing Goblins instead of my usual Lizardmen, just to try and make that skill work...

And bombardiers have never been worth anywhere near 40k.

It's a value measurement, and a fun and fluffy option you can take if you're so inclined. As someone who has played with a fan favourite (as a prize that adds 30k to a player's value), let me tell you that it's worth the look on your opponent's face the one time you get a 3+ pitch invasion.

Bombardiers are great value as long as you roll doubles first skill for HMP!

I once pulled off a successful throw with an Orc and Goblin team, managed to tie up opponent's players, threw a goblin, opponent failed a dodge to swap it back to me, squeezed a blitzer through to knock out the ball carrier and the goblin picked up the ball and got a touchdown.

Rare, but entertaining when it happens.

I scored a touchdown throwing a Halfling with the ball in my first game with them. I'm definitely naming the lone goblin on my Renegades team Long Bomb.

I have to say the painting on the new Goblin team on the GW website is absolutly stunning. I just finished painting some grots for 40k and was pretty pleased with them until I saw those pictures, now they look like a pile of gak!

Wish me could paint dat good

I've seen some special event cards (probably for Miscellaneous Mayhem deck) released by something called "Las Vegas Open" or something similar. What is this and how are they able to release new unique cards? Are they official from GW? Or is this some stunt created by event organizers?

Can't seem to find any info about this. What is Las Vegas Open (in context to Blood Bowl)?

Iirc those cards are unofficial promo items. Just something they do for their events for fun.

Thanks!

I've also seen Winter Bowl promo cards. They are slightly different though, cards are just new or altered inducements, not Special Play Cards.

I ask cause I've seen these items pop up on ebay.

The winter cards came with the winter pitch, those are official, just currently out of stock. For official Special Play cards, there's the Blitzmania ones which include three Misc Mayhem and two Random Events, one (bugman's beer or something iirc) that was only available during an event at Warhammer World, and one (early bird) for preorder the starter box when it was first coming back. Would love to get my hands on those other two, but good luck finding actual cards and not reprints of them on eBay.

Great info thanks!

So the Winter Card inducements are official huh.

I'm planning to move over from original printed cards to print out all cards myself. Mainly to be able to sleeve the cards for longevity, make the cards last longer, but also to make them not recognizable. I got the Blitzmania cards but they have a significant different color or shine to them, making them easily recognizable when on top of the deck. Also the GW card dimensions is really awkward with no plastic sleeves available for that size.

If I print the cards myself, it will also be much easier to transport the cards in standard card decks and I can add rare unavailable cards with ease.

Yeah, I wish the color on the two green Blitzmania cards was a better match for the deck. And also that GW would just use normal sized cards so their stuff could be sleeved instead of using unique dimensions for all of them.

Maybe you can use this:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1e2D1Q517AtwSwPQnKXwOKZBVoebW9-e0W54yUZ1hQkE/edit?usp=sharing

I previously used Google Docs. It was horrible and made the editing a nightmare. Refused to download as pdf, if it did manage to convert to pdf, it added line breaks all over the place.

Now I moved to Google Slides with many benefits and less bugs.

Currently working on adding the cards with some color design to them. Later will finish copying the rest of the document.

Got the new Death Zone Season 2! now. The rule set is getting quite advanced. New special character referees with different rules and you typically roll on a table to see how they react.

New stadium rules. New sponsorships giving you some bonuses (like more $$$ or re-rolls but also having a drawback).

Swoop is like some suggested using the throw-in template instead of D8. But they lose stunty for dodge (cumbersome wings).

Rules for keeping Star Players on your team. Pay the price once, then subsequent post matches you pay a much smaller price defined in a table.

New hall of fame teams. A bunch of old star players. Some brand new star players.

Ah man, my preordered DZ2 isn't going to arrive for another week. Lame. I'm excited for details about the sponsorships!

You roll a D16 + Fan Factor.

Apply modifiers:

+2 if you have stadium
+2 if you won or +3 if you won by two or more touch downs
+2 if other team suffered 3-4 casualties or +3 if they suffered 5 or more casualties (no matter the cause)
+3 if the game was part of play-offs or +5 if final

If the result is 20-24, you can choose one-time sponsorship or ongoing sponsorship.

One-time is high award less risk. Ongoing is less award higher risk but you keep it as long as you want.

Reward is typically some $$$ extra and risk is typically a player miss next game.

If you get 25+ you can choose named sponsorships of which there are 4 of. They are quite detailed and span more than a page.

If you add custom ball rules, stadium rules, referee rules and a different weather table and 6 decks of Special Play cards, you'll have quite a lot to remember during the match!

The teams released are the Goblins, Underworld and Chaos Renegade. Goblins have changes already discussed. Underworld seems identical. Chaos Renegade got 0-1 Line Orc now, with Animosity.

Are the ref and ball rules the ones they had in White Dwarf?

Also the Renegade Orc annoys me a bit. It's super bland, trading one less move for one less armor, but then losing access to Strength and Passing skills on normal rolls and getting Animosity vs the Human Linemen. Like he kind of serves a Blocker role where he sits on the line and is slightly harder to stun, but doesn't get Strength skills? Meanwhile it screws with my plans of using a trio of Orc Linemen models as stand ins for some of the Humans (along with a trio of Dwarves) to increase the sculpt/racial diversity of the Renegades. I would mind it much less if it didn't lose access to the same normal skills as Humans or if they had made it a Black Orc.

Cool, thanks for the details! I was considering custom sponsorship rules for my league so it'll be nice to have some officials rules / guidelines.

No, the referees in Death Zone Season 2! are named referees and you roll on a table to see which (if any) will judge the match. The ones in White Dwarf are generic "Goblin" or "Halfling" referee.

The ball rules was actually a reference to the White Dwarf you mention. DZ2 does not include ball rules unfortunately.

Hmm yes now that I see the Human line man for Renegades, the Orc doesn't seem to offer much and indeed lose access to alot of skills.

There's a few new star players too.

Glart Smashrip is a more skilled, slower version of Glart Smashrip Jr. Losing 2 MA, 1 AG and cost 20k less, but gaining Grab and Stand Firm. Also playing for Chaos Renegades in addition to Skaven. Not sure if GW plan to keep Jr or not.

Guffle Pusmaw now also available for Chaos Renegades.

Karla von Kill, new blodge jump up dauntless average human with 4 ST for 220'000.

Others are Kreek Rustgouger (Ball & Chain MA5), Madcap Miggz (Squig Hopper!?!) and the Swift Twins (Lucien & Valen).

And the goblin box comes with 2x2 sprues. 1 of which are sold separate in the 4-pack.

Yup, just got mine today. They have one sprue that has a coin, a token, two balls, two goblin bodies and three goblins heads.

The other sprue has four goblin bodies, four goblin heads, and one ball.

The regular goblin box has two of each of these sprues, while the little box just has one of the second sprue.

Also, like all the other boxes, it comes with a suggested roster for using only the models in that box, which is as hilarious as you might expect:

YOU HAVE 8 RE-ROLLS AND 4 FAN FACTOR GOOD LUCK SCRUB! XD

Wow, perfectly legit team suited to be pitted against Orcs or Humans (or any team for that matter) haha.

I think GW easily could have pushed more minis into the box. It comes packaged with a lot of air. So far Goblins have the lowest Team Value out of the starter sets:

Goblins: 480
Humans: 740
Orcs: 760
Skaven: 780
Dwarf: 920

Goblins suffer the most for duplicate poses when it comes to Trolls. They really need two trolls and they really need another pose for that troll. It's way too unique, having two will look garbage on pitch.

I doubled down on that problem by picking up two of the skull pass trolls. Horrible models, but at least I won't feel bad about converting them.

Should be very easy to convert the goblin specialists as well if you have any sort of bits box.

Oh, yeah, the Skull Pass troll does have his arms raised to throw a rock or something, doesn't he?
Remove rock, replace with gobbo, job done. Especially since I have the "official" BB troll too...
