Ok, I've just poured myself over every search topic pertaining to 'Chaos Icons' and haven't found what I'm looking for. I know in a few other threads IC's joining units and what effects they can pass on or acquire is in serious discussion. I've checked those threads also by the way. For Chaos Squad Icons, Nurgle, Slaneesh, Khorne, and Tzeentch all say that an IC w/ the unit does not benefit from the Squad Icon's. That's self explanatory. For the Icon of Chaos Glory, it makes no restriction. So I have to ask...

If I join a Sorcerer(I chose Sorcerer since they are not fearless) to a squad with an Icon of Chaos Glory, does the IC join in the ability to re-roll failed morale checks? If not, does that mean the squad looses that ability? Or am I missing something in the codex since GW had to spread everything about Icon's and their use throughout the codex? Thanks in advance.

Units make morale checks. If an IC joins a unit, the UNIT is making the morale check whether or not the IC's leadership value is being used. That's why there's no mention of the IC getting (or not getting) the benefit of the Icon of Chaos Glory.

You're not missing anything, you're just trying too hard.

If a lord joins them they still have to take morale checks, and should they fail it the lord will run with them.

Fearless characters lose it when joining non-fearless squads.

So if anyone ever tried to be fluffy and join Abbadon to a terminator bodyguard like he's ALWAYS accompanied by in the fluff, you can make the squad run away and if they're below half strength, take Abbadon with them right off the board.

Man, this new chaos codex is AWESOME! ><

Except the OP is talking about a Sorcerer.

Yeah, and apparently there's thousands of daemon princes of Slaanesh out there. I mean everywhere. And they lead armies of plaguemarines.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the responses. I was thinking the IC would get the use of the Icon of Chaos Glory; I wanted to be sure. I'd figured a fearless IC would lose that when joining a non-fearless unit.

Indeed. In the new fluff, esp. the new Horus Heresy books, we see all four chaos gods working in concert with each other. Ancient enemies isn't what it used to be.
