I was just wondering if anybody's come across a 9 oblit 2 lash and plauge marine spam Since i'm usually at the top tables of these things but, then again I only attend Baltimore and on occasion Chicago I find it surprising that I haven't seen this list. But i've seen 6 oblit 2 lash and noise marine spam not the same but still good. I've never actually seen more than 6 oblits at a GT (not counting ard boyz). Is it because it's too cheesy?

Usually, I see 6 & 2. I don't think it's a "cheese" factor; it's just the points involved. The points spent on the 3rd unit of Oblits is better invested elsewhere.

I agree but, I ask why everyone is playtesting against lists with 9 if it's not the optimal or common tournament build.

My round one opponent at Baltimore was dual lash sorceror, 4x7 plague marines + rhinos, 8 oblits. 9 oblits is a bit overkill for their role I think. The list is really all about the plague marine + lash synergy most of the time.

People here have come to start using fewer and fewer obliterators. I tend to get better use out of twice as many terminators as I do half as many oblits, and/or a defiler for the price of two obliterators.

It seems that Oblits are less preferable these days when fighting hordes because their plasma cannons scatter a lot. Heavy bolter Havocs are really popular in my FLGS.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Yes, I did.
In the Heat at 1750 pts, I battled an army with 2 lash HQs, one winged DP and one winged Sorcerer, 9 Obliterators and PM. This was my only loss (7:13) in the last game.
Funny enough, I battled this army againt at the Final, at 2000 pts. He simply added some Daemon squads. It was a draw.
In both tournaments, I played mech Eldar.

K no prob. This last tournament I kind handicapped myself by playing nids Land raiders were a very large issue and I know if ran into an army with more than 1 I would probably lose. But vehicles in general are a problem for nids. Ork hordes are a problem to but, I lucked out and played a guy who had no power klaws. If I had played the eldar playeer next to me round 5 I probably would have tabled him. If you think about it this way than I could have come in 3rd overall.
