I was just thinking it might be cool if instead of or in addition to the Dakka P&M blogs we could have real DakkaBlogs It could be set up by user (like blogs.dakkadakka.com/Necros/ or something like that) and really work just like the other blog sites out there. You could post blog articles and give them categories like Painting & modeling, army building, terrain, battle reports, etc. Folks can type stuff and add pics to each article and depending on the category it might post it in the boards too and also the photos you add will automatically get added to your gallery too.

So if you want a blog to talk about life, the universe and everything you can go to Blogspot, but if you want a blog all about your games, you can make a DakkaBlog

anyway just an idea. wadaya think?

It's a great idea and it is in the works, although probably not for a while.

Until that happens you can kind of use your personal wiki page (that every user has access to from their profile page) to do something very similar, and you can always use the article wiki system to create blog type posts and then create a list of links to all your articles in your wiki profile page.

Eventually the goal is to make Dakka have many of the features that social networking sites have, but it is going to take quite a while for everything to roll out.

Yeah it has been batted around but will not be done for quite a while as the articles system (and your user article home page) pretty much serve the same purpose at the moment. The only problem with that is that it is not too simple to use, but there will be tweaks to that in time.
