Subject: Is this stupid? Wizard Lord with Outriders

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

A Wizard Lord on a Barded Warhorse and the Armour of Tarnus has three wounds, a 4+ Save and a 5+ Ward Save. Not bad.
Put him in with Barded Outriders. They make a move first turn and then they stand and shoot. The Wizard stays with them, and can leave if he wants.
The question is, how many Outriders to take. I was thinking 8, making a row of 9 and they can go on a flank.

I've never seen it done because I've never seen anyone take outriders, they always take pistoliers.

Which makes me sad because I like Outriders :(
having said that...it is a interesting option, not one I have seen, but interesting. Wouldn't be terrible because the unit can put out a lot of shots, if they are in the right position, and he can lob spells around. You have to watch placement of the unit to avoid them being shot at to heavily because Panic checks could be very bad. Try it out and see what you think...it has its merits i think but also potential problems.

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.

Might be better to just take Pistoliers (16" move and fire) and put the Wizard someplace else.
I just like it because of the 4+/ 5+ Ward I thought that was a cool combo.
