Because I'm an idiot. I don't want you to deny it, and there's not a whole lot anyone can do to help, but I'm an idiot.
I decided to go and get some Vallejo paints, because although I've heard that they have a tendency to separate before you can get the cap off after shaking them, I've also heard they're good. So I went down to Sentry Box, the Localest and Friendliest FLGS relative to my playgamer mansion, and bought a few. I'm doing some catachan green with Camo highlights on my Cadians, so I looked for the closest colours to those on the chart on the Vallejo rack.
I didn't check the paint compatibility chart on this website, which I already knew about, and find that the closest thing to to Catachan Green is Cayman green. I just looked at the Vallejo paint chart at the store and saw that Flat Green looked close. So I bought that, as well as Olive Green and U.S. Uniform. Then I got home, and painted the armour on one of my cadians with those colours. They looked good together and I was pleased. Than after painting the entirety of the armour, I got down one of my already painted models and compared the colours. They weren't the same, because flat green in reality doesn't look anything like it looked on the chart at the store. So now I have paint that isn't the colour I've used on the rest of my minis and I can't really return because I've already used it.
The more I think about it, the more appalled I am by the sheer stupidity of my actions, and by the sheer volume of utterly stupid mistakes I made. And now I don't know what to do. Just thought you should know.

Victim of a faded colour chart? I see a lot of old ones at hobby stores, and half of the colours look exactly the same.
You can possibly just re-tint your inferior bottle. Give us a photographed example of the difference. If it's similar, a few drops of a blue might be all it needs.
I'm alright at it, but my girlfriend's job is consulting and tinting paint, so I could at least get her to have a look for you!

Honestly, don't feel too bad over that. When my cousin and I first started painting models for 40k, he ran into a similiar problem for his space marines. He'd liked a certain color of blue from testors and started out with painting. When he replaced the bottle with a new one, despite being the same color, they were not the same shade/tint. We could only figure the first bottle must have been so old that it had lost some hue due to severe seperation. Fortunately we did find another color close to what he'd originally used, only about a shade off.

I'd suggest that you experiment with some yellow with
the green if it needs to be lighter. If darker add a
small spot of black.

Don't sweat it--throw some camouflage stripes on them and make them a separate squad with a different loadout.
"Thank the Emperor, it's our allies from Vallejus XI and they've come to save us! I like their disturbingly similar coloring, however those camo stripes really make them look distinct from us. Why is the Commisar pointing a gun at my face?"

In the long run, this might have been a... What's the term?... "Happy Accident."
So, the color's different? that can be a good thing in the long run. With an army like IG, your models often end up VERY CLOSE to each other. The color differentiation can help you to tell the differnt squads apart.
...and, if anyone asks, you planned it that way. LOL
You're not an idiot. You have foresight.
