I've normally ran a list consisting of:

7 Locks on bikes
Farseer on bike
Autarch on bike
Firedragons in WS
3 squads of Dire avengers in WS
2 fireprisms

all WS have TL BL

I'm wanting to move toward a more foot army. So now to my question

Is 15 storm guardian with fusion guns and a lock w/enhance better than 15 defender guardians with StarC platform and a lock with conceal?

... wow they're very different ... do you want CC meat sheild or ranged meat sheild? personaly prefer ranged combat but that my style ...

ok changes that every ones going to tell you to make if you take the defender guardians take a Scatter Laser ... you have more shots and its cheaper
... conceal is fine but theres enough cover out there take embolden so you don't run away
with these changes you'll be able to have two more guardians

Yes, indeed.
15 Guardian Defenders are just babysitting one heavy weapon, while the Stormies are tactically much more flexible.

10 Stormies with 2x Flamers and a Warlock with Destructor are pretty potent in a wave serpent.

On foot, the Storms will get mauled. 12" range guns + T3 5+ save = no deal. At least a Defender squad can sit on an objective and plink away with its heavy weapon.

Don't try to make Storms any more than what they are (which is a flamer squad) - they'll just get stomped in CC. Ork Boyz are 2pts cheaper and do it better.

If you're looking for a( sneaky ) tank hunter stormies are better. Two fusion guns with Guardians can be unforseen. Yet a heavy weapons platform is ovious. Then maybe after the boom you can finish the contents inside in cc.
