I understand the rules for Hordes (as I have them and will be playing Circle) but I only know one thing about Confrontation....their newest edition is apparently turning into a large scale battle vice skirmish....

So, I guess I should ask how Hordes compares to Confrontation prior to ver. 4?

BTW, I was drawn to the circle just because of the feral beasts!!! I love that....I am also drawn to Confrontation only because of the Wolfen.....I love that too!

In confrontation prio v4 everything ws based on individual models, but in hordes there are units also on the table.

Every list has to include a named hero on the same way as conf turney lists. These heros need some warbeasts to draw power from so every list has to include couple of beasts also.

The playing is very strict you go I go, only a couple of figs have special rules that come to action in enemy turns. Hordes has better balance than conf had, there is no uber figs. Hordes tends to play like rock paper scissors as you build armies based on combos and unit synergies.

Thanks....it seems that Conf is dead anyway. But for posterity, was the wolf army slightly overpowere? (I love beastial type armies)

The Wolfen have next to nothing for ranged combat, but in close combat they are superior to all other army's troops. If Hordes is anything like Warmachine, the Warlocks and Warbeasts have lots of special abilities you can play around with to arrange really powerful attacks, so there is more variety. I'm personally waiting for PP to put out the next editions of their games, hoping they will be a little more coherent.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
