Sisters of battle war gear: I am looking into the most useful wargear and why.( how do you use them.)
The Eviscerator( I don't like int 1 weapons). Inferno pistol. There is a posting where every model that can choose items from the wargear list has "Brazier of holy fire". Combi-weapons and Blessed Weapon, seem popular.

The lame answer is, it depends on what you are kitting your sisters out for. Personally, I like the "canonness as threshing machine" load out of canonness with eviscerator, mantle, armor, jump pack and book. I run with a few templates, so I don't go for the brazier so much, although it's a great weapon as well (and I've seen lists where many of the VSS use them as well). Inferno pistols are cool, but kinda pricey unless you are planning on getting close.

I agree with you about the initiative on the Eviscerator, but keep in mind that in hand to hand, you'll be going second or simo most of the time anyway, and with some faith points to keep you alive, you can cut through some people with it. I didn't have one for the longest time and then proxied it in some of my pre-GT test games...now I have two canonnesses with them. Don't leave home without them!
