I've just acquired my first Axis and Allies pre-painted miniatures from the War at Sea range. For those wanting to know, the Yamato and the Washington battleships. While I'm impressed w/ the scale and LoD, I know I want to repaint them and maybe add some detail in places (Especially since the cranes from the scout planes seem to be missing). These plastic minis are a bit more flexible than regular model plastic (which I think is polystyrene) and I'd hate to ruin them during stripping. I know most everyone recommends either: Simple Green or Super Clean so I plan on using one of those. I just want to make sure these choices won't hurt the plastic of these pieces. Anyone done repainting on these minis before? How about stripping?

Some of the color of the figs in prepaint is based on colored plastic. I'm not sure
if that's the case with Axis and Allies prepaints.

Yeah, I thought as much and it'll be a good base color imo. There's mold lines to clean off and a few small areas to fix w/ GS where the plastic failed in the mold, (smaller turret barrels for example and only 1 or 2). I'll likely have to pick up a booster for some cheap commons and just try things out on them first. I really don't want to try things out on these rare ones first off.
