world wide

When I look at unit by unit comparison it seems the Blighted units are much better......and for only 3 or 4 points more.

Is there something that balances them out? Seems the Circle might be the underdog faction....anyone know from experience?

Huntsville, Al

I just started playing Hordes, Circle to be exact, and when I look at most of the units, Circle has more "hidden" abilities that are very useful.

Warmongers are nasty, but cause your own units to flee, where as the Ravengers are just as powerful(better imho) and have Pathfinder, and Tree Walker. All nifty abilities that help them choose when and where they attack, and how effective they are.

Also, Circle has the ability to be very fast. Legion can be too, but advance deployment for several units in Circle seems to really effect the game and very early on. I know my first game against Skorne went fast because most of his units only had SPD 5" and the heavy beast for them is SPD 4".

As far as being the underdog faction, I'm not sure. You would have to talk to the other vets about that. I do know that I've heard, and seen a list that most people hate to play against. Krueger with 2 Woldwardens, with a pack of Gatormen Posse is down right nasty to watch. It makes one walk away from the table calling bull**** if you know what I mean..

Good luck, and I hope you get into the game. I know it only took one play-test and 40K was out the window for me after that.

Sometimes you just have to let em' go...

Faction wide, I don't think Legion outmatches Circle. Both armies will
have their tough matchups (Krueger, as mentioned, is disgusting with
his Woldwardens). It's not as easy as just comparing statlines. If you're having
trouble dealing with a particular faction tactic, let us know and we'll
try to help you figure it out.

I'd say Legion is easier to play, but Circle is the strongest faction if you know what you're doing.

Legion doesn't have a lot of 'buff' effects (spells, feats, abilities, etc.) compared to Circle. So, Legion's basic troops are a little better 'base', but not as good if Circle buffs their units.
