Has anyone tried to adapt the the LotR rules to Warhammer figures so you can play small skirmish games? I was thinking fo taking a WAR box set and mounting the figures on round bases to do some quick skirmish type scenarios.

Seems like a cool enough idea. If you end up making up rules, take some pics
of your minis and post the rules to the Articles portion of the site or the
rules proposal portion of the site.

I started playing around with this lasy night. I think I'm going to work the WAR rules instead of trying to adapt the heroic rolls and such from LotR. Going to work on this this over the weekend.

WAR? I think you mean WHFB, considering WAR is an mmorpg based on WHFB, therefore has no real rules, as it is not a tabletop game, cool idea though. also, you really don't need to put the fantasy creatures on round bases ya know, square bases can work in the same manner as round ones, which is why using a daemon army in WHFB and 40K is possible

This is probably Threadromancy, but a good name for a LOTR-WHFB combo would be Lordhammer, just a thought

I'm old enough to say.......back in the day it was only WAR. There was no MMORPG and there was no 40K. There was a little diddy called Rogue Trader and we all know where that ended up!
We tried out some basic rules this past weekend and were getting together Wednesday to play a follow up game. It went well and was alot of fun. It basically feels like you have 20 heros on the table.
The mini's will get primed this week and we'll do some painting after the game. We're taking notes as we play and I'll post up some screens and battle review after Sunday.

Remember the Warhammer Skirmish supplement? Or Back in the days when the skirmish rules were in the BRB? Shoot, you can use Mordheim rules and have all the figs you'll ever need for warbands from your armies.
