What do you think? I'm considering replacing a sorceress with some Black Guard, and possibly the Corsairs with some Dark Riders, but I'm a little short on scratch right now...

what s the point of a shield on the lord with that armor? If you want a hard to kill lord try him with eternal servitude, pendant, shield, cloak, on a cold one and with weapon of choice. 1+ inverse ward, and regen is very hard to kill, and its cheaper than the dragon. I personally think that if you go monsters at 2000, you don't have points for active magic, so passive defense is the route to go, or just suck it up and take it.

Check the price on your warriors. I think you are off by a bit.

oh, you might want to delete the upgrade by upgrade price cost of your guys before the mods do. I believe its against the forum rules.

And Black guard are great, I like the special guy for the unit alot. If you do drop a sorcerer, then the other one might as well just be a lvl 1 scroll cady.

Hah, I just noticed that... it's sort of left over from when I was messing with his equipment, and with nothing anywhere on the list to make up a 4 point difference I just left it.

I should have mentioned, I'm going up against three very specific armies - High Elves, also going monster apparently, Dwarves, and very occasionally Orcs (though probably not at 2000 pts for a while). When I'm going up vs. Dwarves I always feel wierd about having so many points stuck in defense, and the HE player has roughly the same amount of magic as me. I HAVE, however, considered sticking a Supreme Sorceress, maybe on a peg, into there instead of the dreadlord - I may have both lists ready depending on my flavor of the day.

im shocked no one else spotted this but you cant have the tome with the dagger, they are both arcane items.

ooh, good call, yes that should be fixed up.

If vs. Dwarves, I would say drop the dragon, and buy some more core. A couple cannon balls would kill the Dragon, then the gunline would kill of about half your other stuff (Excludeing the Hydra), then the cc would mop up the rest.

I still think the biting blade isn't quite worth it on the Sorceress, especially if you're gonna be sticking the Sacrificial Dagger on her (if the unit she's in is taking losses from her, they probably shouldn't be seeing combat).

My list is not going monster. It just happens that I've started growing very fond of that dragon model. . Also, you clearly have the superior magic-phase....wish I could generate extra power dice...

Gonna agree with Crazy_Carnifex on the dragon against Chris's Dwarves. It just screams "Target Priority", and we know how uncannily accurate he is with range guessing. At 2k points, you should be able to out-magic him, although I think he may be considering putting in an Anvil.

In which case some harpies might be a good idea to go trash it.
