Hey, I just registered here, so I hope this is the correct board for this. :S

So I am planning on kitbashing a meganob and a warboss together, in order to make a mega armoured warboss (because GW doesn't sell one as far as I know).
So if anyone here has a meganob and a warboss (particularily one from the black reach set) and is willing to take a picture for scale reference, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your time!

wrong forum dude, I think this should be in 'modeling & painting'

As for the boss & the meganobz, Im fairly sure the regular warboss model is too big to be comaptible with the meganobz. I might be wrong though, so dont give up hope.

Every mega-armoured warboss Ive seen used has just been the ghazkull thraka model.

Oh yeh, I missed that board...

I was thinking of using Ghazghkull, but then I looked at him and he looked too big. But I really am not sure about it either way, so I will probably look into this more.

I would. If you can make something half decent it'd be worth doing. To be honest, Im not really a fan of the ghazkull model anyway & its always disappointing to see the same model as HQ game in, game out.

Itd be nice to see a decent mega-armoured boss conversion.

Hiyas!

Here is a conversion I did, based on Ghazzies torso...and then the rest is kitbashed like crazy. Paint and no paint:

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

That guy is HUGE!

Man, I was thinking that I would make my warboss smaller, so that Ghazghkull could look larger later on...
But man that is one nice conversion. Thanks for sharing, I guess I will have to consider some other options if the meganob is too small.

thats really cool Dez. Did you base it on a piece of artwork? Im sure Ive seen a picture where a mega armoured ork is reaching out with his Klaw like that.

Nope, I just wanted to make it dynamic. I basically went through my bitz boxes, and picked out my favorite bits. I then started gluing. The only things I knew that were going to be incorporated from the start were the Black Orc Banner head sans horns and the Defiler claw.

yep thats a right and stompy boss ya got there dez.
as for lemon, Ork bosses are suppose to be big as holy crap! who cares if your boss ends up being the same size as thraka or bigger even. hes suppose to be a big huge giant ork but that doesnt mean hes IS the biggest and hugest ork out there. i plan on using thrakas torso for making my warboss just do what you think feels right. in the end as long as its orky, and stompy youll be fine

the gun looks to be an Orky conglomeration of many different parts... i see some chaos "magazines" in there, where ammo is hanging on chains... the SM missile launcher backpack piece...and some more stuff i dont recognize
