I'm trying to debate wether to get storm boys or tankbustus. Even though bomb squigs can kill there own men they are still very afective. Storm boys can kill themselves they still have jump paks.
all ideas are welcome
by the way my army list consists of
HQ
warboss
Elites
Nobz 5
burna boys
lootas
Troops
Boys

Stormboyz get almost universally good response, while I've never heard anything other then consolation for Tankbustas.

Dump the nobs if they are on foot, to expensive and will die easily. But more on topic, get stormboyz they are a far better choice.

Tankbustas are a fabulous unit crippled by the stupidity of their Glory Hog rule.
Stormboyz on the other hand are a fabulous unit made even better by their Rokkit Packs rule.
Looking over your list, dump the Nobzx3 and probably the Deffkoptaz. You need more bodies to make those units effective. Leadership values of 7 will hose you with such small squads.

theres an article in the articles bit called Ork Tactica (parts 1-3) & it has an incredibly useful discussion on Tankbustas v Stormboyz, as well as all other orky units. you should read it, it helped me out no end.

My Tankbustas are among the most consistently effective units in my army. Now, that's largely due to the fact that I roll so many hits with them that you'd think their Rokkit Launchas were sniper rifles. Bomb Squigs are hilarious and fabulous. However, when you run the numbers on Tankbustas, you get pretty much what you'd expect to see from Orks with weapons that fire once per turn. Even at that, it's still tempting to toss the Tankbustas into a Trukk or Battlewagon and drive them round the board unleashing explody fun on your opponent. Then you toss in the Glory Hogs rule and a huge chunk of players wash their hands of the unit.
The bad news about the Glory Hogs rule is that it's a pain in the arse which tends to remove the Tankbusta's ability to run and their ability to fire their AP3 weaponry at will. The way to work with the rule is to control the unit's line of sight using terrain and vehicles and well planned moves (Glory Hogs doesn't seem to control the unit's movements).
In summary, I think Tankbustas are a great unit. I like the models and they work well for me. That being said, my habit of rolling a large number of hits with the unit artificially increases its effectiveness in the games I've played. I still think they're a good unit, but I can't promise that you'll be able to plop them down and only roll two misses a turn.
Stormboyz on the other hand are much more consistent. My only beef is that they don't come in Mobz of 30 (what can I say, I like my Green Tide be it in the air or on the ground). At the base, Stormboyz are Slugga Boyz who don't need a transport to get them somewhere. The Rokkit Packs rule is entertaining and makes sure the unit gets there faster. When I'm finished, I'll be able to field three full Mobz of Stormboyz and they'll work great. I'll basically be using them as an early game strike force. Sure, they'll get eaten by my opponent, but it's going to take them time and by the time all of those Stormboyz are dead or run off, the rest of the Boyz will show up.
So, both units have great models and both are fun to field, but if you need to choose one or the other, Stormboyz are definitely more consistently effective in game.

Stormboys all the way!!!
tankbusta boys look cool, but they are not very good overall.
stormboys in my opinion are probably the best unit in the ork army because of there extra boost of speed/numbers as opposed to a trukk. and they don't have to rely on a vehicle to get them to combat. although using a vehicle or two to block the opponents line of site to them is always a good thing.
i would also suggest dropping the nob squad and the unit of burnaboys and taking more troops like trukk boys to give your army more mobility and scoring unit.
read the ork takktika in the articles section on this site. it should help you out.
also i just poested my Bad Moon orks 1700 point army list. check it out and let me know what ya think

Stormboys are solid.
Tankbustas are mediocre at best and the points are better spent on another squad of lootas You may have had a spurt of good luck with them, but they are mathematically inferior.
Small groups of footslogging nobs < a large group of footslogging boys with a bped pked nob. I would personally use a chunk of the nob points for a KFF mek to get the boyz stuck in.
Burna boyz are only solid in a battlewagon imo, there are better places to put the points, like a squad of shootas.
Deffkoptas are not a bad unit, but you need to be very careful with them or they will be running away.
