Okay, so after some success with my footslogging sisters at Baltimore (3-1-1), it's time to put them on the shelf for a bit and start on a GT list for next year. I really like the idea of the thunderstorm Lysander list so would love any thoughts/feedback/hate for the following:

Lysander
7 Terms with TH/SS in Land Raider Crusader
6 Terms with TH/SS
Land Raider Redeemer (as heavy choice)
9 Terms with TH/SS
5 marines
5 marines

1750 points

I'm a big fan of kill point denial in large term squads and although I love the idea of nearly 30 terminators rushing across the field I know I need some ranged weapons. I'm considering making the crusader a regular land raider for the lascannons, add a 9th terminator and then either leave the marines alone or make them scout squads and give them both teleport homers. Thoughts or advice?

Both lists need improvement.
You need Termies with stormbolters to make full use of Lysander's thunderstorm.
For this, I'd take a core like this:

2x 10 Tactical Marines

does lysander make terminators core or something cause it does'nt seem competative with only two troop choices of marines so please explain

Lysander does not make count Termies as troops. They are still elite, not even HQ as Command squad.

so how do you plan to win the objective missions you'll be playing? 2 units of 5 marines is not going to live for more than a turn once it gets anywhere near an objective.

Termies are good fun and all, but I think you can mke the point of the list running less than 25 for sure. I wouldn't take more than 16 probably, because you really need to have at least 3 large units of troops to hold your objectives. I'd run 2x Tactical with melta weapons, fists and rhinos and then a scout unit with snipers/camo cloaks that can break into combat squads. This lets you hold 4 objectives and if the scouts go to ground they're looking at very good saves with the camo cloaks.

Basically if you can't hold objectives, you will not win.

yeh if your running Th/SS take Vulkan so they are all mastercrafted, but you need more marines, i would consider reducing the amount of terminators, having at least 20 marines so you can combat squad and take your free heavy and special weaps and possibly giving them raiders or rhinos to ride in, also with bolter drill and an ass cannon you will have a pretty fearsome shooty squad that can take down alot of orks,

another thing to consider is tank hunting, whilst not their are not that many vehicles adding in the lascannons from a raider or two can also give you something to combat obliterators and such

When you give total control to a computer, it’s only a matter of time before it pulls a Skynet on you and you’re running for your life.

Vulkan or Lysander? Why not have both?

HQ:

Vulkan (190)
Lysander (200)

Elite:
8 Assault Terminators (320)
8 Assault Terminators (320)
7 Grey Knight terminators, 1 Brother captain with Psychic hood, auspex (405)

Troops:

5 Man Scout Squad (75 points)
10 Man Scout Squad with camo cloaks & Heavy Bolter (180 Points)

Fast Attack:

Land Speeder Storm with Heavy Flamer (60 points)


You sit the full scout squad on an objective hopefully ruins terrain that can be fortified. Say Hello to 2+ cover save.

Outflank the Land Speeder Storm with the Scouts and hope you botch your reserve rolls until the 4th or 5th turn.

Attach Vulkan & Lysander to the grey knights squad and you have your hood to hopefully prevent lash or any other psychic powers.

March forward with the twin linked storm bolters firing from the grey knights, thanks to Lysander. You can always assign the first ranged wound to Lysander with his great saves.

With any help from the run dice you should be ready to assault by turn 2 or 3 depending on how much the other side sits back. Up to 17 master crafted thunderhammers and 9 relic blades will kill most anything they get into combat with.
