Inspired by the work over at the Necromundicon, I present my latest work:

You can see more of it, as well as info about my current WHFB campaign here

Usually the guy over there gives a short description of the tools, techniques, and stuff used. This way lazy gitz like me can steal it. What is it made of? Looks like it might be Hirtz Arts sci-fi floor tiles + some 90 degree PVC elbows?

Sorry, I was in a rush to get this posted before I had to go to work.

It's made from Hirst Arts molds, but not PVC pipe--that's from the Station Builder mold. If I had the HA pipe molds I might have used those.

Necromundicon is great for the way he outlines everything, although lately he's become kinda reliant on the City of Death sprues, which I don't want to buy.

I did most of the rust weathering using first Dreamcoat's TerraCotta craft paint, then with their Velvet Brown in the middle for the really heavy rust. The off-white pipes were hit with a very watered down Terra Cotta paint. I'm almost embarrassed to admit I didn't most of the blue-grey using a bit of left-over house paint from my kids' playroom. sort of heavily drybrushed on.

If you want to see a series of WIP shots, just go here where I posted them on the Hirst Arts boards.

Okay, thanks! Which mold(s) were you using for this one?

FWIW, I think it looks fine with the house paint, which I think is one of his suggestions for cheap paint.

Doh! Sounds like it's a bit rich for my blood. I love the Hirst Arts molds, but I don't have that sort of scratch laying about. Maybe if I was in charge of doing stuff for a club or something....

Start with 301, which has nice walls and corners. Then I'd get 273, which is the pipe/diamondplate floor mold.

It looks like a good, solid piece. If I were to complain about something, it's a little "non-interactive". By which I mean that its gameplay potential could be improved by sticking, say, a ladder up one side so you could go up to reach a better firing position, and so on.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
