In hindsight, I'd have kept the original base and not had the guy in the jaws. I'm fairly certain I wouldn't have beaten the excellent Harley Winner, but I like to think I'd have scraped into the top 5, definitely not last anyway, I hope!

If im not mistaken those arms are from an old Alien-toy - some sort of alien bodysuit that resembled an Alien Queen but had a human pilot.

Yeah, I got a load of alien type things from a thrift shop. This one was a kind of flyer thing. The wings and carcass will be reused.

I think those arms would have looked great on a 'Nid model, but look a bit out of place on an ork model, especially a deffkopta...

I think the concept is sound, though I wish the arms where less organic too. Still, clever bods, those Orks.

Would simple rod have held that up? Or multiple rods painted black? The current
girders really made the model look odd when the photos were blurry.

I'd have got rid of them altogether and raised the arms.

But we learn as we do, foreplanning not my absolute best skill.
