So i still love the dark eldar, the fluff the army and well i still think the codex is good enough to still be fun to play with even if you will not be winning any gt any time soon.

However i hate the models, i think they look dated and a bit crap next to other modern ones, and so i have attempted to model my own and was looking for feed back on them before i keep going. And sorry for pretty crap photos

Also work in progress that i will get pictures up of is a (far to big really) talos made from a ripped apart raider and parts of the defiler...

Anyhow, what do people think?

Okay so here is the first painted one, again not great pictures sorry about that. You might also notice that i am far from a great painter to, normally i just basic paint and dip everything, this time i decided to take a little more time.

I can't tell anything other than it looks like you're using Dark Elf of Elf body parts. Just the silhouettes look nice however.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Yeah the photos are pretty terrible, but they are a kit bash, guardian legs, then dark elf cloaked backs carved out to allow a guardian torso to fit in the front with the aid of a bit of greenstuff, then a mixtre of dark eldar and dark elf arms and heads.

Nice...clumps....of blackness...!?!? No from what I can tell, they are looking cool. Hard to see anything since you primered them allready. Easily fixed by posting shots with em all painted up!

I was wondering how long it would take for these sort of figs to start showing up. The new fantasy DE are really nice, the pictures dont help us see what you did really. I think the idea is sound though. Maybe some closer pictures?

The waywatcher (?) heads with half-masks may look good on those bodies too, for a more DE look.

Not to mention a pain in the bum getting.

You should try some of the Wood Elf Glade Guardian heads. They have a set of cowled heads.

Looking fairly nice. How are you painting the head and the cloak?

Looks really good. Try using the cold one riders heads too. They have a good dark eldarish(?) look on them also.

I'll second Jirga's recommendation.

I just finished converting the warlocks for my exodite/craftworld eldar using those very same capes. It's a nice bit and very suitable to the dark eldar.

The dark elves bits are a bit to spikey for the flavor of my army, but would be great for the dark eldar.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Ahhh Dark Eldar,I will always have a soft spot in my heart for DE as they were my first "real" army many many moons ago.
Well, although your first pictures are a bit difficult to see,one can sort of get a general idea of what you've done and they look good.
The painted model you've posted looks great, capturing a nice feel for DE,hope to see more soon.
