Hello I just got into LOTR and am a huge fan of the game but I find it odd that in the legions book there are a lot of creatures that haven’t gotten the mini treatment not to mention the stats for them. I mean look at Fangorn list ya got two names and Huorn with no rules but they have points. Then ya got Dol Guldur with a Werewolf and a Black-hearted tree for 50 points but no stats to speak of.

So getting to the point are they going to release the minis or at least give us the stats and rules so we can proxy them in our armies till they come out? I mean the legions book came out in 2006 and didn’t even have all the ring wraiths or the other named characters they do now. So is there any word of expanding or at the very least catching up on what they published?

yes they will give you minis and stats infact if you go out and buy all the books right now you will have about 90% of the rules but thats alot of books. and youll just have to wait thats what buying GW products is all about.

The LOME book was designed as an army list building book that wouldn't go out of date (even though it has on many occasions...) this means that
there are units in the book for armies that are yet to be released, but will be in future....

Yeah what he said. I'm still waiting for stuff like stats for Easterling Dragon Guard, at the 10 points in Legions they should have Uruk-Hai Beserker or Mahud Warrior like stats, but I havent even seen a sneak preview of them anywhere. Will probably see them in the next edition of Shadow in the East or even War of the Ring, but I'm itching to field some elite Easterlings before then so:

Personally I'd run them similar to Gondor's Citadel Guard, F4 S3 D5 A1 C3 Throwing weapons, Bodyguard, Unique special rule: Weaponsmaster (may use hand weapon to Shield) I am thinking of converting some of my normal warriors (remove shields from swordsmen and paint their armour as laquered black & dark red ala some Ancient Chinese/Japanese warriors - samurai anyone

Just my 2c worth

one ring to find them,
one ring to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie."

I believe all those things are in the War of the Rings. Does anyone know if the Strategy Battles game is still being supported?
