farseer
both runes, stones, doom, fortune, witchblade

autrach
lance, bike, mandiblasters

10 guardians
scatter laser

10 dire avengers
exarch, 2xshuricat, blade storm, wave serpent, stones, shuricannon

10 harlequins, shadow seer, kisses

10 Scorpions
exarch, claw, infiltrate, move through terrain (or w.e)

6 Fire dragons
exarch, flamer, crack shot

5 shining spears
exarch, reroll dangerous terrain, hit and run

2x fire prism

falcon grav tank
EML, spirit stones, holofields

I want to try the shining spear/autarch combo, 1) I just converted 6 jet bikes with high elf bits and various lances 2) I want to start putting more of my army in reserve in objective based games...

my one question is can the autarch hit and run with the shining spears?

you really need another troops choice for those objective missions. Guardians die so fast, nd DA aren't that much more survivable. It would be fairly easy to simply focus on the troops for a couple of turns in order to deny you the ability to take an objective. Once that happens you need to hope you table me, or the best you can get is a draw.

I would drop the Shining Spears to get another unit of DA, and maybe even drop the Harlequins for a second small unit of Fire Dragons and a Waveserpent.

You'd be better to keep the Shining Spears and drop the Harlequins down to 6 and then purchase another squad of Guardians with a Scatter Laser than to drop the Spears all together. Especially with the Autarch still in play. Shining Spears will give your list a much needed mobile anti-MEQ capability.

Other than that its pretty low on firepower against AV13+ vehicles. And even shooting at AV12 vehicles is unreliable in this list. If you like footsloggers i recommend 2 Wraithlords with the EML/BL combo and stick them close to your Guardians for mobile range and flamers to keep the Guardians out of combat. And also giving your Wave Serpent a Bright Lance would be useful here too. However replacing the Fire Prisms with Wraithlords will only give 2 vehicles and an opposing list with decent Anti-vehicle firepower will direct their fire on these before hitting the Wraithlords.

Its up to you. I hope that helps. Good luck!

I see 1 fire dragon in a falcon, 2 prisms and then an on foot army with two small troops. I would drop the harlies and/or the scorpions and either look to get your troops in wave serpents or get two more troop choices out there.

More vehicles would allow you to shield that pricey autarch/spear unit you want to play with.

Of course you could run the bike council to provide cover saves for your spears on approach but that will require rethinking a lot of your list.

BL and focoused prism fire do the same thing vs AV13 vechiles. Against AV12, prism wins, against AV14, BL's win. A couple of lords would add an extra str 8 shot in but your always gonna have to shoot at front armour with a slow firing platform like that. (Not mentioning the crazy versitility of the prisms)

Why dont you swap those spears for a council squad entirely, keep the autarch in it tho (Youve still got a good chunk of lance hits coupled with a load of witchblades). You can now reliably deal with AV14 tanks (massed witchblades & that haywire grenade in CC). More troops for sure.
Will you save yourself more turns if you give the falcon star engines and boost it 1st turn 36'' and fire nothing then next turn, unload and start firing everthing at max strength or move it forward more slowly firing its pulse laser & plasma missiles?

Drop the harlequins for pathfinders (you retain rending and a surviveable troop, 2+ cover compared to the superior but nonscoring VoT) oor the scorpains for somthing mechanised, possibly just two serpents for your two troop choices?

Yes, he can use hit&run. P21. 'Forces of Eldar'

Well its pretty clear I want to drop the scorpions... but the questions is for what.

I think the best idea would be to drop the scorpions for 6 pathfinders, and then use the points left over to upgrade my serpent to have twin linked bright lances, upgrade the falcon to a bright lance, and the guardians to a bright lance, and give the Autarch a fusion blaster.

I get another scoring unit, that doesn't really add a kill point, I add 3 bright lances, and I add fusion blaster that wont be that important.

Anything else you could think of?

Remember that under 5e, you can shoot a transport to death, and charge the passengers. That fusion blaster has some decent utility.

Eldrad, much as I hate him (for a dead guy, he sure gets around!), would serve you better than a standard Farseer. Stuff him into the Waveserpent with the DAs, and run it alongside the Shining Spears to keep Fortune up (as well as Fortuning the Serpent).

Dropping the Scorpions is a good change. At present, you've got either too few assault elements, or too much counter-assault. Increasing your firepower is a good change, and pathfinders are fairly resilient, so long as you keep the flamers at bay. But give the Shining Spear exarch a shuricannon - BS 5 is too good too waste.

O man the fusion blaster is soooo in... I forgot that... More importantly I can force them to get out of a rhino on a penetrating hit correct?

eldrad sigh... can't force myself to use him... and mostly I run the farseer in the harlequins every time to make them a pretty uber unit... and I stopped using eldrad because he didn't have fleet of foot!

He's also quite expensive and my army is very maxed on points.

I beg to differ. Usually they rack up 2-4 kill points, and I've lost the entire unit 2-3 times in the 20 games of 5th ed that I've played.

The fortune/shadowseer really helps them out, and I usually doom what they charge.
