Does anyone, besides myself that is,plan on seeing the upcoming "My Bloody Valentine 3D",for those who don't know, this movie is a remake (ach) of a godawful 80s "Insert Holiday" slasher film.
I know that this movie will most probly blow, and I'll leave the theater thinking "Dear lord I can't belive I payed for that",but I have to admit I just can't shake the "I have to see this..it's in flippin 3D".
So,how about it,anyone else plan on ploping down their hard earned cash for what's most likely going to be one giant mess.

I'll admit, I was all set to go, simply because it's a dude in a gas mask killing people with a pick axe. Bad. Ass.
But then I noticed that 3D movies cost $13 instead of $10.25 like normal movies. Took the fun right outta what is no doubt a craptasm of a flick

Do modern 3D movies make you wear a red and blue eyeglasses like back in the 1950s?

I don't think so,but to be honest I'm not sure,I am aware that 2 versions of this film exist, the 3D one and a standard (2D) version for release in theaters that dont have 3D capability,so,I'm assuming that the glasses differ from those of the 50's as I belive the 50's 3D films were addaptable in all theaters.
Actuly as I recall, the 3D films of the 80's ( Friday the 13th 3D,Jaws 3 3D "shudder" and the like) also ran in all theaters,so to be totaly honest I have no idea why this film is only being shown in it's 3D format at certian "3D capable" theaters.

So they can charge extra?
When I saw Beowulf in 3D they gave us these black plastic glasses with grayish lenses. No red/blue coolness. I don't remember peaking at the screen without the specs on, but I assume it would look about normal with maybe some odd out of focus thing going on?

This is correct. It was the same at Superman Returns as well, both of which I saw at Imax. Probably have to be a certain type of HD projector to do the 3D properly.
No, I don't plan on seeing My Bloody Valentin 3D. Now Sleepaway Camp 3D would be neat. It would make the ending that much more fantastic.

The glasses with black lenses are probably polarised and the two lenses are at 90 degrees. This allows the film to show two separate polarised light images and your right and left eye each receive only one of them.
